We are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a regional civil engineering firm dedicated to delivering high-quality projects that shape the infrastructure of the South West and the surrounding regions. We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team in Exeter. As a key member of management team you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success and accuracy of their civil engineering projects.

The role:

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for civil engineering projects, including materials, labour, and equipment.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to develop cost-effective project plans.
• Monitor project budgets and financial performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities and potential risks.
• Sub-contractor procurement
• Negotiate contracts, change orders, and variations.
• Cost analysis and value engineering
• Site measurements, valuations and final accounts

What you will need:

• Experience within a Civil Engineering environment
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator in civil engineering projects
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costing principles.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
