Working within a major civil engineering department of this Plc Contractors Infrastructure Division, a vacancy exists for a Senior Estimator based from there offices in Manchester.

The role will support the business in the UK.

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Estimator. The successful applicant with be responsible for:

• Provide accurate cost estimates and supporting technical information to enable the Company to submit competitive tenders.
• Promote the Infrastructure Division, its image, interest, reputation and standing within the business community.
• Prepare enquiry schedules and liaise with the Buying Department in the selection of appropriate companies from whom quotations should be sought.
• Produce Bills of Quantities from plans and specifications.
• Identify and analyse risks and produce risk register.
• Attend tender settlement meetings ensuring all relevant cost information is available for presentation and complete the tender as instructed.
• Produce Contractor’s Proposals Documentation.
• Maintain regular contact with departments to obtain feedback on costs, technical and commercial performance.

The ideal candidate would possess:

• Experience on producing estimates on schemes valued £100k - £5000k.
• Experience on producing estimates on frameworks valued £1m - £35m.
• Experience within the following sectors: roads, bridges, highways, street lighting and bituminous surfacing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organisational skills / ability to work to tight deadlines.
• A strong personality who can persuade and motivate others.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Be IT literate with a working knowledge of CCS Candy pricing software.

Qualifications:

• HNC, HND, BSc, BEng, MEng
