£9 – £14 per hour (Dependent on location, client and experience)

40+ Hours Per Week Temporary (may even include weekend work)


A Plasterer is specialised in the coating of internal walls and ceilings with different types of plaster so that they are ready to be decorated, and the coating of external surfaces with appropriate materials, such as cement or sand.


It may include but is not limited to:

* Following the strict instructions of the project manager to carry out the work as required

* Mixing of cement and sand to ensure the correct consistency of product

* General site clearence ensuring the site is kept clean and tidy

* Filling holes and cracks and making sure surfaces are level

* Preparing the site for decorating

* Ensuring the site is kept free of hazards and necessary precautions are taken to ensure the public are aware of work in progress

* In some cases you may be required to use the clients tools, therefore they must be maintained and kept in good working order

* Leaving the site in a clean and tidy condition

About the Candidate

*  Solid understanding of plastering and health and safety regulations

*  Excellent awareness of surroundings

*  Must be of reasonable physical fitness

*  Establish and maintain excellent working relationships and communicate well with your colleagues

* Be able to work independently and as part of a team

*  Have excellent practical skills

*  Ability to work to deadlines and to a high standard

*  Be able to work at heights when required

* You may be required to present two references from previous employers to demonstrate the quality of your work

* In some cases you will be required to provide your own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and tools

* A minimum of two years experience working under the supervision of an experienced plasterer



* In the majority of cases a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card is absolutely essential to enter a site.

* In a small number of cases Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) may be required.


* It would be desirable but not essential to have a GCSE in Maths, English or be able to demonstrate that you are competent in Maths or English.

* City and Guilds qualification in Plastering
