£25,000 - £28,000/per annum

Sphere solutions are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Test Technician to work for a regional manufacturing company in Blackwood, South Wales. Job Summary:

Working within the Manufacturing and Product Support Department the role of Manufacturing Support Technician is to provide support in the compilation and maintenance of product literature and supports the MAPS team with manufacturing and product issues.


  • Create, maintain, and update product literature incl. SOPs, O&M Manuals, Installation Manuals and Design Records.

  • Monitor and review engineering changes and their implementation.

  • Create new and review existing working practices to support the site Continuous Improvement initiatives

  • Assist with manufacturing, product, and quality investigations.

  • Assist with continuous improvement implementation within manufacturing and product design.

  • Assist with New Product Introduction (NPI) and the supporting activities between Product Design and Production.

  • Support the implementation of Road Map projects.

  • Support the implementation of paperless working methods.

  • Take the lead in project manage improvement initiatives.

  • Problem solver with a methodical approach and an eye for detail.

  • Use of Solidworks or other CAD systems would be an advantage but not essential.

  • Proficient in the use of and MRP / ERP system.

  • A good understanding of fundamental Mechanical and Electrical principles.

  • Demonstrate strong project management skills

  • Good IT skills for use Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


  • Previous CAD drawing experience essential.

  • Minimum education to HND/HNC level

  • Completion of recognised Apprenticeship would be an advantage.

  • Experience of switchgear design and/or utilisation would be an advantage.
