My client, a national house builder, are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a large new build development in Bridport.

You will be responsible for the commercial and surveying responsibilities for this large site. Managing costs, ensuring targets are met and having the ability to show absolute cost and value reconciliation.

General responsibilities will include:

Maintaining all cost control procedures including managing and controlling the budget and valuations
Be able to control all commercial tasks and responsibilities on large sites in excess of 500 units
Compile site start budgets and manage budget control throughout the development
Complete accurate costing for each aspect of site development, analysing and reporting on costs and cash flow
General commercial administration, taking direction from Managing Surveyor and/or Commercial Manager

Suitable candidates will possess the following:

Qualified to HND level or higher
Proven track record in a similar role with a house builder
Must have a sound understanding of the current market conditions, building regulations, NHBC and Health & Safety requirements
Strong IT Skills, working knowledge of computer systems within the commercial environment and software

Devon, Cornwall & Somerset – working “on the road”
Full-time/Permanent
£33,200-£41,600 (£16ph)

You will work within a 2 person team, supervising the CCTV Drainage operations across new build housing sites in Devon, Cornwall & Somerset.

Suitable candidates will have experience using Wincan V7 and/or v8 sewer inspection reporting programme. Must have experience surveying all types and sizes of drainage systems.

Must have the following:

Full UK Driving licence
Confined Space Certificate (Ideally City & Guilds)
CSCS card (minimum site operative card, with Health & Safety)

All suitable candidates must have a good understanding and working knowledge of all aspects of drainage engineering, the theory of drainage systems and all relevant legislation.

On offer is an hourly rate of £16ph, based on a 40-50 hour week – paid weekly.

The appointed candidate will take the work van home with them, and then meet the operative on-site, anywhere in Devon, Cornwall or Somerset. Candidates must live within one of these areas and must be willing to travel on a daily basis.

This is a permanently employed role and your package will include a pension, annual leave, sick pay and other employed benefits.

Calling all Facilities Manager’s for a long-standing MOD maintenance contract.

Midlands / South – with region-wide travel

You will be joining a direct delivery team, managing a pipeline of small projects up to £25k across a large MoD site and surrounding locations.

Duties will include:

You will be responsible for overseeing the direct delivery of a programme of Billable Works from concept-design-pricing-delivery-handover, whilst complying with all Health & Safety and Environmental standards and policies
Review risk assessments, and method statements, agree on works to be carried out, and manage the design and scope process to provide a tender package through to delivery.
Liaison with the direct delivery team and contractors to ensure works are delivered efficiently and in a timely manner and Budget

Suitable candidates will possess the following:

Previous experience within facility management or built estates managing small works, including scoping of works, pricing and delivery up to £25k.
Good knowledge of CDM regulations.
An HNC/ONC or equivalent level qualification in a Building / Civil Engineering or Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is desirable.
IOSH and or SMSTS preferred not essential.
Good IT skills, previous experience working with CAFM systems such as Maximo being desirable and SharePoint,
You must be able to pass SC Clearance to be considered for this role.
Hold a UK Driving License – will be extensive travel across the Midlands and Southern regions, staying away from home when the business demands (at the company’s expense).
