Full job description
Full-Time Quantity Surveyor position (Office hours: Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm, Friday 8am to 4pm)
The Role:
We are looking for a forward-thinking, organised, motivated individual to join our busy surveying department.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of construction projects. Your expertise in cost control will contribute to the overall efficiency and profitability of the projects. If you are detail-oriented, and analytical, and have a strong understanding of construction processes, we encourage you to apply.
The role will involve Financial management of carpentry sub-contracts in the residential & commercial sector. Including:
- Subcontractor Labour Payments
- External monthly valuations & monitoring of outstanding monies
- Ordering Materials
- Managing Variations
- Remeasurement of Works
- Tendering
Candidates must have the following experience and skills:
- Minimum HNC/HND in a Quantity Surveying-related course.
- At least 2 years experience.
- Good computer literacy including Excel & cloud based contractor specific applications.
It is desirable for candidates to have:
- Existing carpentry knowledge and experience
- Salary is subject to experience.
Duties
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis
- Perform quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities
- Evaluate tenders and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
- Monitor project costs and provide regular cost reports to management
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering options
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure cost control measures are implemented effectively
The role will be office-based with visits to the site as and when required.

Education:
- Certificate of Higher Education (preferred)
Experience:
- Surveying: 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (required)
