We’re working with a leading national building contractor with a strong presence across the West and Wales, known for delivering high-quality new build and refurbishment projects across a variety of sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Design Manager to join their team in Bristol.

About the Company

Our client is a well-established and highly reputable Tier 1 contractor, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex and secure environment projects. A significant proportion of their workload comes from long-standing involvement on MOJ (Ministry of Justice) and MOD (Ministry of Defence) framework schemes – offering stability, a structured delivery model, and interesting, technically demanding work.

The Role

As Design Manager, you’ll play a key role in the coordination and delivery of design solutions from tender through to construction phase. You’ll work closely with pre-construction, project, and commercial teams to ensure buildability, cost-efficiency, and compliance are at the forefront of the design process.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience as a Design Coordinator or Design Manager within a main contractor environment
• Exposure to complex build or refurbishment projects; experience on MOJ/MOD schemes is highly desirable
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Relevant qualifications in Architecture, Construction Management, or Engineering
