We’re seeking an experienced Design Manager to join a highly successful, award-winning main contractor in their thriving Bristol office. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a well-established regional business unit known for its strong pipeline of work, collaborative culture, and exceptionally low staff turnover.

The Role

You’ll work closely with the Regional Design Lead, managing the design process from pre-construction through to delivery on a range of high-profile projects — typically up to £80 million in value. Schemes include MOD developments, education projects (schools, colleges, universities), and commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate design activities across multiple projects
• Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to achieve design excellence
• Ensure design deliverables meet programme, budget, and quality targets
• Support pre-construction and bid teams on new opportunities

About You

• Proven experience as a Design Manager with a leading contractor
• Strong technical background with excellent communication and coordination skills
• Comfortable managing design teams on large, complex projects
• Proactive, commercially aware, and solutions-focused
