HVAC Operations Manager

Salary: £47,000 – £52,000 (DOE) + Car Allowance + Pension + Bonus + Benefits
Location: Chesterfield

About the Role

We are working with a well-established renewable energy contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced HVAC Operations Manager to lead their air conditioning and ventilation division.

This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for managing the full lifecycle of ventilation projects — from design and tender stage through to installation, delivery, and handover. Projects range in value from £10k to £1m, covering commercial and industrial environments nationwide.

The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing technical delivery, managing teams, supporting business growth, and maintaining strong client relationships. This is an office-based role with occasional national travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC and ventilation projects from design through to completion
• Produce ventilation designs, duct sizing, and pressure drop calculations
• Prepare and submit tenders, quotations, and cost estimates
• Oversee ductwork installation and ensure compliance with specifications and standards
• Manage project delivery, ensuring works are completed on time and within budget
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, engineers, and internal teams
• Provide technical guidance and resolve on-site or design-related issues
• Support business development through client engagement and repeat business
• Ensure health & safety, quality, and compliance standards are upheld

About You

• Proven experience managing commercial or industrial HVAC / ventilation projects
• Strong technical knowledge of ventilation systems, ductwork, and air handling
• Experience with tendering, estimating, and project delivery
• Confident working from drawings and specifications
• Minimum 10 years’ experience within the HVAC / ventilation sector
• HNC (or equivalent) in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
• F-Gas certified
• Full UK driving licence
• Professional, reliable, and hands-on with strong leadership skills
