We’re looking for an experienced Buyer to join our client’s expanding team in Exeter. This is a key position within the procurement function, responsible for securing the best prices for construction materials in line with project contracts. Reporting directly to the Directors, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.

Responsibilities

• Procuring materials at the most competitive prices
• Measuring quantities of materials as required
• Comparing supplier quotes and analysing prices against tender allowances
• Researching product information and alternative solutions
• Liaising with site teams and suppliers regarding orders and deliveries
• Maintaining organised records to prevent invoice queries
• Managing stock lists and identifying cost-effective reuse opportunities
• Assisting the accounts team with invoice resolution

The Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience as a Buyer, ideally within the construction industry
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Sound understanding of market research and pricing analysis
• Confident working closely with senior management
