Project Planner

Location: Dawlish (Hybrid Working)
Salary: Circa £55,000 + Benefits
Type: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Role

Sphere Solutions are working with a leading civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Project Planner to join their growing operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on technically complex civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the UK, supporting both pre-construction and live project delivery. You’ll play a key role in developing robust programmes, monitoring project performance, and ensuring successful delivery in line with contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project programmes using Microsoft Project
• Produce NEC4-compliant construction programmes
• Prepare tender-stage programmes to support competitive bid submissions
• Monitor project progress and update programmes throughout project delivery
• Identify critical path activities, programme constraints, and project risks
• Carry out delay analysis and assess the impact of compensation events
• Develop resource-loaded programmes to support labour, plant, and resource planning
• Work closely with operational, commercial, and pre-construction teams
• Attend project sites across the UK as required

About You

• Previous experience as a Project Planner within a civil engineering or infrastructure contractor
• Strong working knowledge of NEC4 contracts and programme management
• Proficient in Microsoft Project and advanced Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
• Willingness to travel to project sites across the UK
• Marine, coastal, piling, or heavy civil engineering experience is desirable
• Knowledge of Asta Powerproject or Primavera P6 would be advantageous
