Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Plymouth
Salary: £75,000 + Package
Job Type: Permanent

We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial expertise, supporting the delivery of local landmark schemes across Plymouth and the surrounding areas.

The Day-to-Day

• Prepare accurate cost estimates based on consultant reports and technical information.
• Develop detailed project cost plans as designs progress.
• Produce quantities from drawings and technical documentation.
• Support the preparation of Contractor Proposals.
• Procure consultants and subcontractors.
• Prepare and submit applications for payment.
• Produce accurate monthly cost reports, forecasts and financial updates.
• Support project mitigation and commercial recovery strategies.
• Attend client, consultant and project meetings.
• Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team.

What We Need From You

• Previous experience and longevity working for a Tier 1 or large regional contractor in a Senior Quantity Surveyor capacity.
• A strong understanding of construction techniques and commercial management.
• HNC / Degree in Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying or a similar sector-related course, and/or RICS membership.
• Strong knowledge of company management systems, including commercial and financial systems such as Commercial Manager, COINS or Sphere.
• Proven experience managing and mentoring a team of Assistant and Quantity Surveyors on a large-scale contract.
• Excellent commercial, analytical and communication skills.
