The Role

As an Area Cleaning Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of cleaning services across multiple locations, ensuring contractual obligations, service standards, and client expectations are consistently achieved.

You will be responsible for managing operational teams, maintaining client relationships, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement across the contract portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Managing cleaning operations in line with contract specifications, budgets, KPIs, and client expectations
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and operational teams
• Managing subcontractor performance and ensuring agreed service delivery standards are maintained
• Overseeing vetting, onboarding, and compliance processes in line with airport governance requirements
• Conducting regular site visits, audits, inspections, and performance reviews
• Monitoring service quality and implementing corrective actions where necessary
• Driving continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives
• Producing accurate management reports, performance updates, and client documentation
• Supporting account growth through effective client management and retention strategies
• Ensuring all services comply with health & safety, quality, and regulatory requirements

About You

We’re looking for a commercially aware and customer-focused Facilities Management professional who thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as an Area Cleaning Manager, Regional Cleaning Manager, or Account Manager within Facilities Management, Soft Services, or Contract Cleaning
• Experience managing clients, subcontractors, stakeholders, and operational teams
• Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
• Outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities
• Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, costs, and profitability
• Ability to analyse performance data and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Flexible approach with willingness to travel regularly between sites

Desirable Experience

• Multi-site contract management
• Soft Services Facilities Management
• Contract Cleaning
• Aviation or transport-sector contracts
• Performance management against KPIs and SLAs
• Client-facing account management experience
