An Exciting Opportunity for an Ambitious Construction Project Manager
Are you an ambitious, proactive Construction Project Manager looking for more than just your next project?
We are working with a rapidly expanding main contractor based in Pencoed, South Wales, who is looking to appoint a dynamic and commercially aware Project Manager to play a key role in the continued growth and success of the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager who wants to take ownership of projects, make a real difference and become an integral part of an ambitious and growing construction business.
Rather than simply managing projects from start to finish, this role offers the opportunity to influence how the business operates, contribute to its development and help deliver its future growth plans.
The longer-term opportunity is particularly exciting, with a genuine pathway towards an Operations Manager position for the right individual.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of construction projects across South Wales, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and within budget.
You will work closely with the senior management team, site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients, taking a hands-on approach to project delivery while helping to drive standards and improve operational performance.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing construction projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
- Taking full responsibility for programme, budget, quality and health and safety.
- Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and external consultants.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Monitoring project progress, identifying potential risks and proactively resolving issues.
- Managing project costs, procurement, variations and commercial performance.
- Ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards and client expectations.
- Providing leadership, direction and support to site management teams.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies and project delivery.
- Supporting the continued development and growth of the business.
About You
We are looking for someone who is proactive, driven and commercially minded. Someone who doesn’t simply react to problems but takes ownership, finds solutions and drives projects forward.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager working for a main contractor.
- A strong understanding of construction project delivery and site operations.
- Experience managing multiple project stakeholders, subcontractors and site teams.
- Good commercial awareness, including budget management and cost control.
- The ability to programme, plan and coordinate projects effectively.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- The confidence and ambition to contribute beyond the boundaries of a traditional Project Manager role.
Most importantly, you will be someone who wants to be part of a growing business, take ownership and help shape its future.
What’s In It For You?
This is an opportunity to join a business at an exciting stage of its development.
You will have the chance to work closely with the senior leadership team, influence project delivery and play a meaningful role in the company’s continued expansion.
The position offers:
- A competitive salary, dependent on experience.
- The opportunity to join a rapidly expanding main contractor.
- Greater autonomy and responsibility than a traditional Project Management role.
- The opportunity to influence business processes and operational performance.
- Long-term career development and progression.
- A genuine opportunity to progress into an Operations Manager position.
- The chance to help build and develop a growing construction business.
