Role Overview
We are seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Cardiff.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your career in a supportive environment, gaining hands-on experience across a variety of projects. You will assist senior team members with commercial management, data analysis, reporting, and project coordination — playing an active role in delivering high-quality work while learning from experienced professionals.
You’ll work closely with construction management, engineers, and surveyors to help keep projects on track, conduct research, attend meetings, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand project requirements and carry out tasks set by the Team Manager or Supervisor.
- Shadow experienced colleagues, assist where possible, and proactively learn from the team.
- Conduct desktop and field research, collate and analyse data, and produce reports.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, surveyors, and construction managers to maintain project progress.
- Support compliance with all quality procedures outlined in the Project Quality Plan.
- Work in a collaborative and professional manner with internal and external stakeholders.
- Deliver presentations and progress updates to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in existing processes and techniques.
- Observe and follow all health and safety guidelines on site and in the office.
Essential Criteria
- Right to work in the UK.
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to achieve best value from suppliers.
- Logical and analytical approach to problem-solving, with an understanding of business processes and systems.
- Eager to learn with a strong attention to detail, particularly with numerical data.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks, prioritising effectively, and meeting deadlines.
- Highly organised with strong time management and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable interacting with all levels of management and project teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
