Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum

Sphere Solutions are looking for a Buyer or procurement specialist to join an innovative construction team in Liskeard. Our client works on large-scale projects across Cornwall and Devon, so this will be a varied and busy position.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll manage materials, supplier relationships, and procurement processes to keep projects running smoothly. If you have experience in purchasing, procurement, or the construction industry, this is a great opportunity to make a real impact on exciting local developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and purchase construction materials, cranes, and haulage.
• Manage purchase orders, stock levels, and timely deliveries.
• Build strong supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and monitor performance.
• Support production and site teams to keep projects on schedule.
• Ensure materials meet quality, safety, and sustainability standards.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and help forecast future requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and support audits.

Person Specification

• Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
• Experience within construction, timber frame, manufacturing, or a related industry is beneficial.
• Good understanding of construction materials.
• Commercial awareness.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Competent in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft programs.
