The Opportunity

Sphere Solutions are currently recruiting for a Commercial Director to join a market-leading Tier 1 main contractor based in Bristol.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior commercial professional looking to take a strategic leadership role within a highly respected construction business.

As Commercial Director, you will lead the commercial function across a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring robust commercial management and strategic oversight. You will drive performance, develop a high-performing commercial team, and ensure profitability and client satisfaction across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic commercial leadership across all projects and frameworks
• Manage and mentor the commercial team, promoting best practice and professional development
• Oversee cost management, contracts, and risk across the business unit
• Work closely with the senior leadership team to drive business growth and profitability
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and stakeholders

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Commercial Director or Senior Commercial Manager within a Tier 1 main contractor
• Strong background in major construction or infrastructure projects
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline
• Strong understanding of NEC and JCT contracts
