Contracts Manager – Groundworks

Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 DOE

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager with groundworks and civil engineering experience to join a long-standing regional contractor to manage sites across Cornwall.

The Role

• Overall management of designated sites, ensuring on-site health and safety compliance and maintaining high standards at all times.
• Managing site teams, direct labour, and subcontractors.
• Ensuring all plant and materials are fit for purpose.
• Overseeing PPE and on-site HSE compliance.
• Implementing short- and long-term programmes and planning to deliver sites on time.
• Liaising with internal and external Health & Safety consultants, advisors, and auditors to ensure duties and responsibilities are met.
• Regular client liaison on progress and attending meetings as required.
• Ensuring timely delivery of sites while meeting budgets.
• Regular liaison with both commercial and technical teams.
• Sourcing and recruiting site teams and labour, overseeing ongoing training, and addressing HR matters.

Requirements

• Proven experience at Contracts Manager level within groundworks (housing and/or commercial considered).
• Strong programming and planning abilities.
• Solid understanding of health and safety management, RAMS, and COSHH — SMSTS ticket required.
• Commercial and financial awareness.
• Full driving licence (sites will be across the region).

Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 DOE + company vehicle or car allowance.
