I’m seeking an experienced and proactive Document Controller to join our client working on a major high-technology construction project in Newport.

  • Location: Newport
  • Company: Leading Building Contractor
  • Project: Major High-Technology Construction Project
  • Duration: 3 Years (with potential for further work)
  • Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Friday: Early finish

Role Overview:

This is a 3-year project with the possibility of further work on completion. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing all aspects of document control and administration on a fast-paced construction site, ensuring smooth and efficient project operations.

Key Responsibilities

Document Control:

  • Manage and maintain the project’s document control system, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and easily accessible.
  • Oversee the distribution, storage, and retrieval of technical documents, drawings, and project records.
  • Ensure compliance with company and project-specific document management procedures.

Administration Support:

  • Provide administrative support to the project team, including meeting coordination, minute-taking, and correspondence management.
  • Maintain site records, including attendance logs, induction records, and health & safety documentation.
  • Support project reporting and liaise with stakeholders as required.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and documentation flow.
  • Assist in coordinating document reviews and approvals in line with project timelines.

Quality Assurance:

  • Regularly audit the document control system to identify and resolve any inconsistencies or gaps.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and project-specific standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in document control and administration on large construction projects.
  • Proficiency in document management systems and software.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working in a dynamic team environment.
  • Familiarity with construction site operations and terminology is essential.
