Electrical Building Services Engineer – Bristol

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the UK’s most respected construction organisations as an Electrical Building Services Engineer. Working on major construction projects across the South West, you’ll become part of an experienced Building Services team delivering high-quality projects from design through to completion.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Electrical Building Services professional looking to progress within a business that genuinely invests in its people and offers excellent long-term career prospects.

The Role

You’ll provide technical leadership across electrical building services, ensuring designs are coordinated, compliant and delivered successfully throughout the construction process.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviewing consultant electrical designs, specifications and tender documentation.
• Providing technical input during pre-construction and tender stages.
• Managing design coordination between consultants, architects and subcontractors.
• Raising and managing technical queries and RFIs.
• Reviewing specialist subcontractor tenders and technical submissions.
• Coordinating electrical systems including power distribution, containment, lighting controls, BMS and fire alarm systems.
• Managing factory acceptance testing and equipment delivery.
• Reviewing coordinated installation drawings for compliance and buildability.
• Carrying out site inspections and supporting project delivery teams throughout construction.

About You

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience within Electrical Building Services on major construction projects.
• An Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design, coordination and installation.
• Experience working alongside consultants, subcontractors and site teams.
• Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
• Previous leadership or management experience would be advantageous.
