Health & Safety Advisor

Location: Plymouth
Salary: £45,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits

About the Role

Sphere Solutions are working with a well-established regional construction contractor to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their growing team, supporting construction projects across Devon and Cornwall.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside an experienced Health & Safety Manager, promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring the highest standards of compliance across a diverse portfolio of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out regular site inspections and health & safety audits
• Provide practical health & safety advice and guidance to site teams
• Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
• Support investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses
• Produce detailed audit reports and monitor corrective actions
• Work closely with the Health & Safety Manager to drive continuous improvement
• Build strong relationships with operational teams, subcontractors, and clients
• Promote compliance with company procedures, Health & Safety legislation, and CDM Regulations
• Deliver toolbox talks and support ongoing health & safety initiatives where required

About You

• Previous experience as a Health & Safety Advisor within the construction industry
• NEBOSH General or NEBOSH Construction Certificate
• Experience carrying out site audits, inspections, and reviewing RAMS
• Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel to projects across Devon and Cornwall
