  • Ensure compliance with LOLER, BS 7121, relevant legislation and project-specific lifting procedures.
  • Review and verify lift plans, RAMS and associated documentation before lifting activities commence, within the agreed approval and authorisation process.
  • Ensure lifting operations are appropriately planned, supervised and controlled.
  • Identify potential risks, challenge unsafe practices and implement effective control measures.
  • Lead and contribute to toolbox talks, safety briefings and lifting coordination meetings.
  • Carry out site inspections and compliance checks to verify that lifting operations are being undertaken in accordance with approved plans and safe systems of work.

  • Ensure lifting documentation is accurate, accessible and maintained in line with project requirements.

Crane and Lifting Equipment Management

  • Coordinate inspections of cranes, lifting accessories and associated equipment.
  • Verify that lifting equipment is certified, correctly marked and suitable for its intended use.
  • Confirm that suppliers maintain equipment in accordance with statutory inspection and maintenance requirements.
  • Monitor equipment compliance and address any issues that could compromise lifting safety or operational efficiency.
