Full job description

Full-Time Quantity Surveyor position (Office hours: Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm, Friday 8am to 4pm)

The Role:

We are looking for a forward-thinking, organised, motivated individual to join our busy surveying department.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of construction projects. Your expertise in cost control will contribute to the overall efficiency and profitability of the projects. If you are detail-oriented, and analytical, and have a strong understanding of construction processes, we encourage you to apply.

The role will involve Financial management of carpentry sub-contracts in the residential & commercial sector. Including:

  • Subcontractor Labour Payments
  • External monthly valuations & monitoring of outstanding monies
  • Ordering Materials
  • Managing Variations
  • Remeasurement of Works
  • Tendering

 

Candidates must have the following experience and skills:

  • Minimum HNC/HND in a Quantity Surveying-related course.
  • At least 2 years experience.
  • Good computer literacy including Excel & cloud based contractor specific applications.

 

It is desirable for candidates to have:

  • Existing carpentry knowledge and experience
  • Salary is subject to experience.

 

Duties

  • Prepare cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis
  • Perform quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities
  • Evaluate tenders and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Monitor project costs and provide regular cost reports to management
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering options
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure cost control measures are implemented effectively

 

The role will be office-based with visits to the site as and when required.

Job Type: Full-time

  • No weekends

Education:

  • Certificate of Higher Education (preferred)

Experience:

  • Surveying: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)

Ability to Commute:

  • Pontyclun (required)
  • Work Location: In person
