Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor

Location: Helston, Cornwall
Salary: £35,000 – £55,000 (DOE)

This is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced and forward-thinking commercial team.

Key Responsibilities

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will manage the commercial aspects of multiple projects across Cornwall and occasionally South Devon.

Your duties will include:

• Procurement & Financial Management
  Oversee procurement and manage subcontractors to control costs and improve project efficiency.

• Commercial & Financial Control
  Conduct valuations, reconciliations, and manage final accounts to ensure robust financial management throughout each project.

• Tendering & Pricing Support
  Assist with the tendering process and support pricing exercises when needed.

• Site Engagement
  Carry out regular site visits and liaise with the head office to maintain project alignment and delivery standards.

Key Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• HNC (or higher) in Quantity Surveying or a related field
• Proven experience in a similar role with ability to work autonomously
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
• Experience in general construction; civil engineering experience is a plus
• Full UK driving licence (essential for travel to sites and head office)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other IT tools
