The Opportunity

Sphere Solutions is working with a leading Tier 1 main contractor to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Exeter-based team. This role is ideal for a commercially minded QS with experience managing large-scale construction projects who’s ready to step into a senior-level role with career progression pathways.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the commercial management of large or multiple projects
• Prepare cost plans, tenders, and procurement strategies
• Manage subcontractor procurement, payments (including CIS), and final accounts
• Lead monthly cost and value reporting
• Undertake value engineering to improve margins and outcomes
• Support in resolving commercial disputes and claims
• Monitor budgets, identify risks/opportunities, and ensure project profitability
• Work collaboratively with project teams, clients, and the supply chain

About You

• Experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior QS on high-value construction projects
• Skilled in cost reporting, forecasting, and subcontractor management
• Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
• Experienced in final accounts and commercial dispute resolution
• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
• Confident communicator and team player with excellent commercial acumen
