Company Overview
A leading regional civil engineering and groundworks contractor based in South Wales is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.
You will take responsibility for a major project based in Bridgend, managing the self-delivery of groundworks and associated infrastructure for a large mixed-use development.

Key Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment.
- Procurement: Source, negotiate, and manage suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Budget Management: Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are achieved.
- Contract Management: Review, administer, and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential cost, contract, and delivery risks.
- Quantity Measurement: Measure and assess material quantities and work progress.
- Cost Control: Implement cost-control measures to optimise project profitability.
- Reporting: Produce regular reports on project finances, forecasts, and cost variances.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with relevant legislation, company procedures, and industry standards.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, ideally in civil engineering or groundworks.
- Strong understanding of construction costs, cost planning, and change management.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and construction-related software packages.
