Are you an experienced Senior Site Manager with a strong background in substructure works?
Would you like to play a key role on one of Cardiff’s most exciting and high-profile construction projects?

Our client, a leading Tier 1 contractor with an exceptional reputation for delivering major schemes, is looking to appoint a Senior Site Manager to join the team on a prestigious £200m+ development in Cardiff. With the project set to run for the next 3 years, this is a fantastic long-term opportunity for the right candidate.

The Role

You will take a lead on the critical early phases of the project, with a particular focus on complex substructure works — including piling and groundworks. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring these key works are delivered safely, to programme, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all substructure activities on site
• Coordinate piling and groundworks operations with subcontractors and the wider project team
• Drive health, safety and environmental standards across the site
• Ensure works are delivered to specification, on time and within budget
• Maintain excellent site records and reporting to support project delivery
• Work closely with engineers, planners, and commercial teams to resolve challenges and maintain progress

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager on large-scale construction projects
• Strong knowledge and demonstrable track record in piling and groundworks
• Ability to manage and coordinate subcontractors and site teams effectively
• Excellent understanding of HSEQ principles and best practices
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
