Site Manager – Groundworks & Externals | Major Education Development | Cardiff

Are you an experienced Site Manager with a proven track record delivering groundworks and external packages on large-scale construction projects? Sphere Solutions is supporting a leading Tier 1 contractor in the search for a skilled professional to help deliver a landmark £100m education scheme located near Cardiff.

This is a rare opportunity to join an exciting project from day one, playing a key role in shaping the success of a 2.5-year programme. You’ll be a core member of a highly experienced project team, overseeing all groundworks and externals activities to ensure quality, safety, and programme targets are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all groundworks and external works on a major new-build education project
• Coordinate subcontractors and ensure works are delivered to programme, quality standards and H&S requirements
• Work closely with project and commercial teams to maintain smooth project delivery
• Take responsibility for site logistics, sequencing and daily site operations
• Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, driving strong communication and collaborative working

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience managing similar groundworks/external packages on large-scale construction projects
• Strong leadership, coordination and problem-solving skills
• Thorough understanding of construction sequencing, site safety and quality management
• Based locally to Cardiff or within a commutable distance
• Ability to commit to a long-term project (2.5 years) and contribute from inception through to completion
