Site Manager – Heavy Industrial / Steel Frame

Location: Plymouth
Salary: £55,000 & completion bonus
Contract Type: 18-Month Fixed Term Contract

The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join a contractor based in Plymouth, delivering a heavy industrial / steel frame construction project.

This is a fast-paced, high-pressure site environment, requiring a strong leader who can manage site operations effectively while maintaining safety, quality, and programme targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site operations on a busy construction project
• Manage subcontractors and ensure works are delivered safely and to programme
• Maintain high standards of health & safety and site compliance, including CDM regulations
• Monitor progress, quality, and productivity across the project
• Ensure all procedures and site processes are followed correctly
• Work closely with the wider project team to deliver key milestones

Requirements & Experience

• Proven experience as a Site Manager on industrial or steel frame projects
• SMSTS certification
• CSCS card
• First Aid at Work
• Temporary Works (advantageous)
• Strong IT skills with the ability to manage site systems and reporting
• Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
• Strong organisational and communication skills
