Key Responsibilities

  • Lead preparation of detailed cost estimates for marine infrastructure projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Analyse project plans, specifications, and risks to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and bid teams to align estimates with project feasibility and programmes.
  • Manage subcontractor and supplier relationships, review quotations, and conduct site visits.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar (preferred), or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years’ senior estimating experience within marine infrastructure or heavy civil projects.
  • Strong knowledge of marine construction methods, materials, and environmental factors.
  • Able to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and planning software.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Desirable

  • Experience in dredging, piling, breakwaters, or similar marine works.
  • Experience mentoring junior estimators.
  • Driving licence, CSCS card, and knowledge of NEC contracts.

Additional Information

  • Our client welcomes applications from candidates based anywhere in the UK. The successful candidate will attend the Devon office approximately once per month to maintain team collaboration.
  • 40-hour working week.
  • Circa £80,000 salary, plus company car or car allowance, discretionary bonus, and 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

About the Role
