Estimator – Groundworks & Civil Engineering
Plymouth | £50,000 – £60,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits
We are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join a well-established groundworks and civil engineering contractor based in Plymouth. With nationwide coverage, they specialise in delivering high-quality commercial projects, ranging from £50k to £10m.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a wide variety of prestigious projects, including:
- MOD developments
- Supermarkets and petrol stations
- Hospitals
- Public realm works
- Schools
Role Responsibilities:
As an Estimator, your duties will include:
- Completing full estimating tasks using Conquest software
- Reviewing technical drawings and plans to prepare accurate costings
- Conducting site visits and assessments to gather project details
- Procuring labour, material, and plant quotations
- Managing tender enquiries and preparing tender submissions
- Preparing detailed Bills of Quantity and cost projections
- Collaborating with internal departments to support successful project delivery
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience as an Estimator within the groundworks or civil engineering sector (preferred)
- HNC or Degree qualification in a relevant subject is advantageous (strong experience will also be considered)
- A valid UK driving licence is essential
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
Salary & Benefits Package:
- £50,000 – £60,000 depending on experience

Site Quality and Compliance Manager

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-focused Site Quality and Compliance Manager to take ownership of site audits, compliance, and quality control across a range of exciting developments. The Role
As Site Quality and Compliance Manager, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of quality and legal compliance across multiple construction projects. Reporting to the Production Director and working closely with Project and Contract Managers, you’ll act as the central point of contact for quality assurance across sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular site audits to monitor and improve quality
- Review and manage auditor sheets, ensuring consistency and accuracy
- Ensure compliance with site drawings, specifications, NHBC standards, and Building Regulations
- Maintain up-to-date records and ensure all company documentation meets current standards
- Liaise with clients regularly to provide updates and maintain strong relationships
- Support and advise site teams on compliance and best practices
- Visit sites across the South West as required (travel essential)
About You
We’re looking for someone with solid construction site experience and a keen eye for detail. You’ll be naturally organised, proactive, and confident in engaging with site teams and clients alike.
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Previous experience in a quality and compliance role or at Site/Contracts Manager level
- Strong background in construction or groundworks
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to travel throughout the South West region
What We Offer
