About the Company

We’re working with a well-established and growing construction company who deliver high-quality projects across a range of sectors including hospitals, schools, airports, and fire safety upgrades. They are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract. There is potential for this role to develop into a permanent position; however, this will be reviewed next year.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a proactive Quantity Surveyor to join this forward-thinking team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll take ownership of commercial responsibilities across various projects—supporting cost management, procurement, and contractual processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage subcontractor procurement and payments on projects valued up to £6m
  • Prepare take-offs and Bills of Quantities
  • Carry out valuations, monitor project costs, and manage payments
  • Conduct site measurements and assist with on-site cost reporting
  • Support estimating and tendering activities
  • Compile and agree final accounts
  • Maintain accurate records and reports using MS Office (particularly Excel) and internal systems

About You

  • Degree-qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Construction experience within a regional contracting environment is preferred
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • CSCS card holder
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Based within a reasonable commute of Plymouth
