Role Responsibilities
As a Site Manager, you will:
- Lead and coordinate daily site operations to meet project milestones.
- Oversee subcontractor management and ensure work aligns with quality standards.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
- Work closely with project teams to manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Proactively resolve site challenges, ensuring smooth operations.
- Provide regular progress updates to senior leadership while fostering clear communication across all teams.
Candidate Requirements
We’re looking for experienced, driven professionals with:
- Proven Site Management Experience: Particularly on large-scale construction projects. Experience with high-tech builds such as data centres is highly desirable.
- Leadership Skills: A strong ability to inspire and manage diverse site teams.
- Construction Expertise: Deep knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- HSE Familiarity: Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Relevant Certifications: SMSTS, CSCS card, and First Aid are essential; additional qualifications in construction safety or project management are advantageous.

Our client is a well-established contractor with national coverage, seeking to appoint a Managing Quantity Surveyor

You will oversee a major project in the region. They have a strong presence in the South West and are recognised for delivering high-quality construction projects across both the private and public sectors.
Joining an experienced operations and commercial team, you will take the helm of leading the commercial team to successfully deliver projects within budget and expected profitability levels.
The role:
- Manage and lead the quantity surveying team.
- Perform cost management and financial reporting
- Manage the subcontract procurement process
- Oversee the subcontract management from first valuation to the final account
- Assist the Commercial Manager with the negotiation of new contracts
- Prepare and manage budgets, cash revenue, expenditure, and cost plans
- Value Engineering and propose mitigation strategies for risk
- Collaborate with other senior manager for successful project delivery
The Successful Applicant
- Regional / Tier 1 contracting background, working at MQS level currently
- Prior experience in the financial delivery of major projects advantage
- Knowledge of cost management and financial reporting
- Strong contractual knowledge of NEC/JCT contract conditions
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills.
- Full UK driving license
- Subject to relevant security and DBS checks

- Exeter based
You will be an integral part of the management team, providing support to the whole team on best Health & Safety practices throughout the business.
Duties will include:
- Carry out regular audits, inspections, and visits
- Carry out SHEQ tasks that are required to maintain company policies and procedures
- Risk assessments and method statements
- Advise on the practical implementation of CDM, Safe Systems of Work, Construction Phase Plans, Environmental Management Plans, and Well-being strategies.
- Accident reports for reportable accidents
- Amend and write up internal Health & Safety documentation, safety policies and procedures, and strategies.
Suitable candidates:
- Must have experience as a SHEQ Manager
- Must have an understanding of ISO 9/14/45 certifications and NERS (national electricity registration schemes)
- NEBOSH General or Construction
- Driving Licence, CSCS card & SMSTS (Preferred)
- Must be willing to travel, due to sites being across the country
