Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Friday: Early finish

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Document Controller to join our client working on a major high-technology construction project in Newport. This is a 3-year project with the possibility of further work on completion. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing all aspects of document control and administration on a fast-paced construction site, ensuring smooth and efficient project operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Document Control:

Manage and maintain the project’s document control system, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and easily accessible.

Oversee the distribution, storage, and retrieval of technical documents, drawings, and project records.

Ensure compliance with company and project-specific document management procedures.

Administration Support:

Provide administrative support to the project team, including meeting coordination, minute-taking, and correspondence management.

Maintain site records, including attendance logs, induction records, and health & safety documentation.

Support project reporting and liaise with stakeholders as required.

Collaboration:

Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and documentation flow.

Assist in coordinating document reviews and approvals in line with project timelines.

Quality Assurance:

Regularly audit the document control system to identify and resolve any inconsistencies or gaps.

Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and project-specific standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

Proven experience in document control and administration on large construction projects.

Proficiency in document management systems and software.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work under pressure.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working in a dynamic team environment.

Familiarity with construction site operations and terminology is essential.

You will be responsible for overseeing a scheme up to circa £1.5m, in the education, healthcare, commercial or industrial sectors. They are looking to welcome a Site Manager on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Forming and maintaining a good working relationship with subcontractors, architects, surveyors and the client.
  • Updating the programme, recording and reporting any delays and advising of additional work.
  • Ensuring work carried out by subcontractors and company employees are carried out to the highest standard and within Health & Safety regulations.

Your new role will consist of:

  • Managing all on-site teams, ensuring both programme and budget is on track.
  • Ensure that all on-site policies and health and safety procedures are adhered to.

You will suit this role if you possess the following:

  • SMSTS and Asbestos awareness is essential
