I’m recruiting for a reputable maintenance and refurbishment contractor seeking an RLO to facilitate communication between customers, site teams, and the client on two sites in West Cornwall.

Your time will be split between the site (West Cornwall), and the office (Mid Cornwall) and there will be the requirement to travel to the Exeter office for meetings, occasionally.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Act as the first point of contact for Residents and relay effective communication to site teams and management.
  • Manage residents’ expectations, re-arrangement or postponement of works.
  • Manage customer complaints and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Delivery of customer survey process via door-to-door surveys and telephone surveys.
  • Support with community projects and activities where requested.

Suitable candidates will possess the following:

  • Minimum of 1-year experience in a similar role, preferably with a contractor.
  • Must have outstanding customer care skills including negotiation, problem-solving and listening skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Minimum GCSE English and Maths Grade C

I’m looking for a Project Manager for a leading development organisation in the heart of Cornwall.

With an investment and development partnership ethos, this organisation is currently on the search for a Project Manager. The sole purpose is to manage multiple projects from design through to handover and aftercare, ensuring a quality build, safely and to agreed budgets and time scales. Project will be varied including, residential and mixed-use developments across Cornwall.

The role:

  • Manage project budgets / take charge commercially of all project financials
  • Manage performance, ensuring successful delivery of construction projects.
  • Implementing contracting and procurement strategy, including the appointment of contractors and suppliers
  • Lead monthly project meetings, pre-construction, and construction stages, producing build programmes and reviewing design / technical approvals.
  • Liaise with the development teams, understanding sales & lettings to build programme, accounting for section 106 agreements.
  • Manage risk and opportunity, ensuring build costs are controlled, holding CVR meetings, and reviewing costs and variations.
  • Monitor and inspect projects, ensuring the quality and safety of all sites.

The Person

This role is an integral appointment for the operational team and will require similar experience and knowledge to be considered.

  • Significant experience working within the construction industry, managing complex projects or portfolios.
  • Excellent financial/commercial understanding of build costs, risk and variations
  • Both developer & construction experience is preferred, ideally working within a client-side environment would be preferred
  • Full project lifecycle knowledge
  • Degree qualified or equivalent within a construction-related discipline and preferably a membership of a professional organisation.
