Sphere Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced site agent, to work for a reputable and regional civil engineering contractor in South Wales on a permanent basis.

Job Purpose:

  • Apply and develop knowledge and skills in delivering construction projects and leading site teams.
  • Make decisions and develop your confidence and ability as a site agent with support from your contracts manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand project requirements (tender, form of contract, deliverables, programme, drawings,
  • specifications, etc) and communicate to your site team, providing information to the workforce/sub-contractors in a suitable clear, concise and timely manner.
  • Ensure that your project is properly planned, programmed and resourced to achieve safe, profitable and timely delivery.
  • Ensure quality control requirements are met and recorded through compliance and implementation of the Integrated Management System.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports, and ensure that method statements, risk assessments and approval documents are in place for all site activities.
  • Supervise and manage your site team and activities ensuring a high standard of health, safety and environmental compliance – promote a positive safety culture.
  • Monitor and manage all foreseeable risks and opportunities associated with your project
  • Ensure adherence to legal requirements and company procedures.
  • Ensure thorough understanding and adherence to all the contractual requirements
  • Identify problems and seek the most efficient construction solutions.
  • Proactively lead the site team, providing motivation and development support.
  • Prepare in partnership with the commercial team monthly reports and forecasts
  • Ensure labour, plant, material and subcontract requirements are procured, reconciled and managed through the implementation of Evision.
  • Support the divisional team in Marketing, Business Development, Work Winning and other business requirements.

Job Purpose:

I am working with a well-known Civil Engineering Contractor to recruit either a Sub/Site Engineer or Assistant Project Manager who is looking to fast-track their career in civil engineering construction.

You would be fully proficient in managing a project from start to finish including managing and being responsible for all aspects of H&S, Environment, quality, programming, contractual and the financial side of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the commercial and technical delivery of projects from £10k-£1m.
  • Confidently communicate with Site Managers, Engineers, Clients and Designers
  • Successfully deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Ensure Health and Safety, Environment and Quality are maintained to the highest of standards.
  • Manage project procurement and temporary works requirements.
  • Administer Commercial Contracts, Provide Early Warnings, CE’s, Valuations, Applications, Cashflow, Forecasts to all Projects.

Essential Requirements:

  • HNC or NVQ equivalent – Industry-specific
  • Eye for engineering detail and setting out experience
  • SMSTS or IOSH, CSCS Card and Full UK Driving Licence
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages and experience of programme software is preferable but not essential.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Live within 50 miles of Newton Abbot

Suitable candidates will have experience in a similar role with extensive knowledge and experience in Housing Groundworks and Infrastructure works including, drainage, highways, utilities/pipes, kerbing etc. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage, supervise and monitor site operatives and sub-contractors.
  • Organising Earthworks.
  • Organising plant.
  • Ordering materials.
  • Keeping accurate daily records.
  • Working to tight programmes/deadlines.
  • Health and safety including daily briefings and toolbox talks.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with the works information, construction drawings and specifications.

Requirements:

  • Excellent health and safety knowledge and awareness,
  • SMSTS, CSPS/CSCS, FAW ticket.
  • Good communication skills, confident in liaising and dealing with the client.

Are you an experienced Site Manager with a Solar / Civils background looking for a new opportunity,

Sphere is currently working with a Renewable Energy Client seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee a 26-week Solar Farm project based near North Tawton.

As the Site Manager, you will organise and oversee works carried out on site ensuring it is completed on time and within budget.

This is a permanent opportunity, once the initial project is complete, sites will be based nationally and will require national travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with clients and reporting on progress to site staff
  • Supervising and hiring site staff and subcontractors
  • Monitoring build costs and project progress
  • Conducting quality and safety inspections
  • Checking and preparing site reports, designs and drawings
  • Maintaining quality control checks
  • Give toolbox talks.

Key requirements:

  • Must have previous Solar and Civils experience.
  • Willing to travel to other sites on completion of the project
  • SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid

Nationwide Travel will be required after the initial site is completed.
