Are you a Quantity Surveyor looking for your next move?

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a long-established contractor, specialising in refurbishment projects across the Devon area.

Accurate reporting and maintaining contractual relationships are key for this role, ensuring projects are procured and delivered within budget. As the Quantity Surveyor, you will take the commercial lead with support from the commercial team on multiple projects.

Ideally, you will have 5 years + of experience within construction and have relevant experience to commercially manage projects up to £2m+.

The role:

  • Financial and contractual management of projects
  • Procurement and management of the supply chain and subcontractors
  • Work closely with the commercial manager to review contract terms
  • Agree/pay invoices
  • Valuations, monthly CVR’s, and final accounts
  • Ensure variations are reported and costed
  • Managing financial risk and opportunity
  • Assist with project reporting
  • Provide estimating and contracts management support

Sphere Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety, Health, environmental and Quality Advisor to join a very successful Solar and civils contractor, based in Exeter.

The role will be varied and include site auditing, risk assessments, method statements, inductions, and training quality assurance, to implement a positive culture and ethos on site.

Suitable candidates will have similar experience and knowledge of construction, along with a NEBOSH certificate, and a a full driving license.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to all management and site staff on Safety, Health, Environment and Quality issues.
  • Attend meetings to proactively contribute to initial decisions made on H&S matters.
  • Assist the Contract Managers with the completion of the construction phase plans and RAMS documentation.
  • Leading on accident/incident investigations. Producing detailed investigation reports.
  • Liaise with site staff ensuring safe systems of work are implemented correctly and carried out.
  • Produce and collate all Health, Safety & Quality documentation.

Job Requirements

  • Have previous experience in an HSE Advisor role within construction.
  • Have an excellent understanding and knowledge of Quality Assurance
  • Hold a NEBOSH certificate.
  • Hold a full valid UK Driving Licence

Sphere Solutions are currently recruting for an experienced quantity surveyor to work for one of Wales’s premiere refurbishment, renovation and re-modelling specialists on a permanent contract.

 

The Client:

Our client are a small/medium sized contractor who carry out a variety of works including flooring solutions, redecorating, refurbishment, electrical & mechanical, altro whiterock, suspended ceilings, general building and carpentry. Most of their work is NHS refurbishment programmes including hospital ward refurbs, washroom installations and floor refits.

 

The Candidate:

  • 5+ years experience as a QS in relevant sectors i.e. construction, internals, refurb, fitout #
  • Ideally degree qualified (preferred)
  • Clean driving license
  • Asbestos Awareness (Preferred)
  • Cost planning and reporting
  • Commercial Management
  • Contract management
  • Competent user of MS Office
