 We are assisting in recruiting an Area Contracts Manager for a new contracts team, managing MOD maintenance contracts across the South West. We are looking for an ambitious and people-focused leader who can make their mark building and delivering an exceptional and customer-focused facilities management/built-estate service.

As an Area Contracts Manager, you will drive your team and the trusted sub-contractors, providing a safe and compliant service, in a busy and demanding environment. At the same time ensure you are delivering a cost-effective and quality service.

 Duties will include:

  • Responsible for the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance projects, across multiple sites, managing a trusted supply chain/contractors.
  • Ensuring a culture of exceptional health and safety
  • Ensure a programme of work is in place.
  • Develop and maintain lasting client relationships, working openly and transparently.
  • Responsible for the growth and delivery of further billable works

Suitable candidates will possess the following:

  • Previous experience within facility management – hard services or building refurbishment works.
  • Excellent communication skills, ensuring excellent engagement with the management teams and client.
  • Experience in leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams and sub-contractors.
  • Relevant professional qualification, CIOB / MRICS / BIFM or equivalent experience through experience or qualification in the role-related subject
  • Sound knowledge of all MS Office Package
  • You must be able to pass SC Clearance to be considered for this role.

Site Manager

Cornwall

We are seeking a Site Manager to assist with a programme of small works across Cornwall, working with an experienced operational team, you will assist in delivering a program of capital works, ranging from small external works to redecoration or a small new build.

The successful candidate will manage site teams, sub-contractors, on-site health and safety and compliance, ensuring project delivery both on time and within budget.

What you will need:

  • Experience in a similar role, working as a Principal Contractor, managing trades and the supply chain.
  • Current in date SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid.
  • Ideally, an ONC / HNC or level 6 NVQ in a construction-related subject, experienced trade route will also be considered.
  • Longevity with previous employers and a good understanding of various forms of contract.

I am working with a private, bespoke house builder to recruit an experienced Customer Care / Multi-Skilled Technician to join their team covering developments across Cornwall

Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, you will carry out all maintenance and repairs to newly built and owned properties, ensuring the very best care and service is provided to new homeowners throughout their aftercare period.

Key responsibilities:

  • Taking direction from the Customer Care Manager, ensuring all customer appointments are attended on time.
  • Ensure the property is adequately protected before the commencement of works, including PPE and overshoes.
  • Take relevant photographs confirming protection, before and after work and reporting on completion of works via email.
  • Review your diary and ensure that workload is allocated appropriately, ensuring work can be completed right first-time in the time allowed and resolved in a timely manner.
  • As and when required carry out inspections of reported defects and issue a full report with photographs.
  • Report any repetitive defects on active and non-active sites to the Customer Care Manager to discuss with the Commercial/Technical Director
  • Ensure that Health and Safety are followed, and site regulations are adhered to.

To be successful in the role, we are looking for:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction, and housebuilding trades e.g. Painting, Decorating, Plastering, Carpentry and Joinery
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Organised, self-motivated with a high level of personal integrity and respect for others is essential.
  • Able to work as part of a small team with established processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise work and take initiative.
  • Works well under pressure/in a fast-moving environment.
  • Driving license.

As part of the Defence FM and Housing Maintenance framework contracts, you will play a crucial role in delivering effective and compliant electrical maintenance tasks within the London area.

Reporting office based in Byfleet, this role will cover sites across London, this position is a permanent, full-time Monday to Friday position with a 1in4 out-of-hours rota which will include occasional weekend work

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake planned and reactive electrical maintenance
  • Work as part of the on-site engineering team
  • Complete all works scheduled within service-level agreements
  • Carry out reactive repairs and callouts for emergencies
  • Ensure all works carried out meet JSP375 standards
  • Review and contribute to Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Work independently from drawings, specifications, and other documentation
  • Report all equipment or system defects
  • Attend team briefs, Toolbox talks, training

 Requirements:

  • Full, clean UK driving licence (travel within multiple locations required)
  • 18th edition electrical qualification, including City and Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing
  • Experience in an MOD or Construction/Property Maintenance environment (desirable)

I am working with a highly successful regional contractor to recruit an experienced Site Manager to oversee a large programme of refurbishment. Working across multiple sectors, which will include refurbishment of heritage, MoD, commercial and further educational establishments, up to £2m.

To be considered for this role you will need extensive Site Management experience, be used to taking a project from inception to completion and have good client liaison skills, sometimes working in an occupied environment.

Duties will include:

  • Manage and coordinate all site staff and sub-contractors.
  • Give daily toolbox talks
  • Drive delivery of the site, building to programme and budget
  • Always manage and ensure a high level of health and safety.

Suitable candidates:

The Client:

Our client are a small/medium sized contractor who carry out a variety of works including flooring solutions, redecorating, refurbishment, electrical & mechanical, altro whiterock, suspended ceilings, general building and carpentry. Most of their work is NHS refurbishment programmes including hospital ward refurbs, washroom installations and floor refits.

 

The Candidate:

  • 5+ years experience as a QS in relevant sectors i.e. construction, internals, refurb, fitout #
