You will take full responsibility for a large external refurbishment project in Plymouth, ensuring the programme is running to plan, teams are performing as they should, and health & safety are to a high standard throughout.

Accountabilities & Key Tasks:

• Manage the client, end users, contractors and labour staff.
• Source and manage the suitable supply chain.
• Ensure high standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality within site operations, delivering a high-value, safe project for the client.
• Work across disciplines (Surveying, Design Management, Buying, Planning, HR, HSE) to effectively manage contracts.
• To plan, organise, control, and coordinate the project to a satisfactory and safe completion.

The client:

Established in 1982, our client has gained experience in completing large and prestigious projects ranging from external structural framing systems to interior finishes. They specialise in suspended ceilings, acoustic wall panels, ceiling rafts, plastering, rendering, insulated render, rain screen cladding and exterior suspended ceilings. They carry out work on schools, universities and student accommodation.

The Candidate:

• Degree qualified (preferred but not essential)
• Ideally resides locally in the area
• Full UK driving license and access to their own vehicle
• Experienced in civils or construction
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Internal finishing experience (preferred)
• Excellent Communicator with strong presentable skills
• Able to form constructive working relationships with colleagues, suppliers and clients
• Ensuring application debtors are minimised and prompt Final Accounts are settled.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Submitting Applications for Payments to clients.
• Visiting sites for valuations/variations and meetings as required
• Management of site-level change management
• Change management, compiling change notices, evaluation and agreement
• Securing payments from the customer within the specified contract terms

In a nutshell, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of decarbonisation projects, developing high-performing teams and expanding the company’s market presence.

Applicants must be aware this role will require a lot of travelling, overnight stays and time spent on the road between offices & sites.

Suitable candidates will possess the following:

• CMI Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management & Leadership, or equivalent
• Higher level qualifications within construction or similar
• Experience within a similar role is essential
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (Pitman Excel Cert – advantageous)

• Must have a proven background of leading teams through change and complex challenges
