I am working with a regional contractor, known for their repeat business and quality work to recruit a permanent Working Supervisor to join their team covering projects in Tiverton, North Devon & Somerset.

Suitable candidates will come from a strong Carpentry or multi-trade background with local knowledge and the ability to work with sub-contractors & other managers to co-ordinate work efficiently.

The appointed candidate will expect to work on Universities, Schools, Industrial Units & Commercial projects. A large part of their work includes – Fitting fire protection, Fire safety doors & Fire stopping.

Occasionally, there will be a requirement to work on the tools if required.

Applicants must hold a valid SMSTS, First aid at Work, CSCS & Asbestos Awareness (Desirable). You will also be expected to pass a DBS check.

This is a permanently employed role, you will get a fully expensed company van & fuel card, annual leave, private medical, pension contribution and company IT.

I’m working with a rapidly growing building services contractor to recruit a Project Manager to join their team.

You will manage and take full operational responsibility for an MOD refurbishment project in Somerset, as well as an additional project at a later date.

The appointed person will manage all site teams, ensure both the programme and budget are on track and adhere to MOD policies and procedures.

Suitable candidates:

  • Must have a proven track record of project managing sites from £500k to £5 m.
  • Security clearance is essential, due to the location of the project.
  • Must have excellent administration and IT skills due to the level of paperwork required.
  • Commercial experience/knowledge including the ability to price small works/variations
  • Must have either a White or Black CSCS card.
  • Site management tickets are essential – SMSTS, First Aid at Work & CSCS

This position will be working on social housing across the Cornwall region, managing retrofit & quality control works on void and occupied properties.

You will oversee the team and ensure they carry out works safely and in a timely manner, according to the programme.

We are looking for someone to take charge of The Minor Works package. The scale and scope of these projects vary, but their approach does not, delivering all projects with the same quality, diligence and professionalism, with a client base of multiple repeat users.

As a Contracts Manager you will oversee the planning, management, and execution of minor works contracts across a range of sectors, including commercial, education, heritage, local authority/government and MoD.

The role requires a combination of strong project management and pricing skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards. The successful candidate will manage multiple projects simultaneously, develop client relationships, and work closely with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.

The role:

  • Tender preparation – reviewing, specification and preparing costs, value engineering
  • Cost breakdowns of labour, material, plant, subcontract quotes/negotiation
  • Budget management – monitor project costs, variations and cost reporting
  • Project delivery – compliance with the contract specifications
  • Programming – project time scales, labour and materials
  • Client liaison – the main point of contact for the client
  • Quality Control – work in progress, QA, building regulations
  • Health & Safety – ensure all projects adhere to HSE standards and expectations

What you need:

  • Proven track record of contract management and estimating, ideally in minor works – £50,000 – £1m
  • Relevant construction qualification, along with SMSTS, CSCS – black or White card is a must.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts – JCT/NEC and building regulations.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and analytical skills for estimating and budgeting.
  • Strong leadership skills in managing site teams, subcontractors etc.
  • The role will require DBS/ SC clearance and a full driving license.

Calling all Facilities Manager’s for a long-standing MOD maintenance contract.

You will be joining a direct delivery team, managing a pipeline of small projects up to £25k across a large MoD site and surrounding locations.

Duties will include:

  • You will be responsible for overseeing the direct delivery of a programme of Billable Works from concept-design-pricing-delivery-handover, whilst complying with all Health & Safety and Environmental standards and policies
  • Review risk assessments, and method statements, agree on works to be carried out, and manage the design and scope process to provide a tender package through to delivery.
  • Liaison with the direct delivery team and contractors to ensure works are delivered efficiently and in a timely manner and Budget

Suitable candidates will possess the following:

  • Previous experience within facility management or built estates managing small works, including scoping of works, pricing and delivery up to £25k.
  • Good knowledge of CDM regulations.
  • An HNC/ONC or equivalent level qualification in a Building / Civil Engineering or Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is desirable.
  • IOSH and or SMSTS preferred not essential.
  • Good IT skills, previous experience working with CAFM systems such as Maximo being desirable and SharePoint,
  • You must be able to pass SC Clearance to be considered for this role.
  • Hold a UK Driving License – will be extensive travel across the Midlands and Southern regions, staying away from home when the business demands (at the company’s expense).
