We’re looking for experienced Electricians to join a busy industrial site in Plymouth, carrying out maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and installations on a range of plant equipment and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planned and reactive electrical maintenance.
  • Fault finding on motors, drives, pumps, conveyors, and control panels.
  • Installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment.
  • Electrical inspections and testing.
  • Supporting plant upgrades and improvement projects.
  • Working safely and maintaining accurate maintenance records.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation/Maintenance (or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition qualification.
  • Experience within industrial, manufacturing, heavy plant, quarrying, or mining environments.
  • Strong fault-finding skills on three-phase systems and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Inspection & Testing (2391) qualification desirable.

Additional Information

  • All employees are required to undergo drug and alcohol screening.
  • This position operates on a shift pattern: 5 days on, 5 days off, 12-hour shifts.
  • Pay rate is dependent on experience.
  • Due to the site location, candidates must have their own reliable transport.

EC&I Technician – Plymouth

We’re recruiting for multiple EC&I Technicians to join a major industrial project in Plymouth, supporting refurbishment, maintenance, and upgrade works on a wide range of plant equipment.

Key Role

You’ll be involved in inspecting, testing, fault finding, and recommissioning equipment, as well as upgrading and modifying older systems, including panel building, rewiring, calibration, and setting to work.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Electrical, control & instrumentation maintenance and upgrades
  • Fault finding on motors, drives, control systems, and instrumentation
  • Testing, inspection, and condition reporting
  • PLC, SCADA, and VSD/DOL work
  • Instrument calibration, loop checking, and valve setups
  • Reading P&IDs and electrical drawings
  • Supporting safe systems of work and permit procedures
  • Working closely with mechanical and operations teams

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 (Electrical / Control / Instrumentation) or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ industrial experience
  • Strong fault-finding and test/inspection skills
  • Experience with 3-phase systems, instrumentation, and control systems
  • Understanding of safe systems of work

Desirable

  • 18th Edition

  • Confined space, working at height, or slinging/signaller tickets

MEP Estimating Manager – Data Centres / Construction (Anonymous Employer)

Salary: £95,000 – £105,000 + Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits

About the Role

An established main contractor operating across the data centre, defence, and energy sectors is seeking an experienced MEP Estimating Manager to lead the preparation and delivery of high-value, competitive tenders.

This is a senior pre-construction role focused on developing accurate mechanical and electrical (M&E) cost estimates, leading bid strategies, and ensuring tenders are commercially robust, risk-aware, and aligned with business objectives.

You will play a key role in securing complex new build and refurbishment projects, particularly within mission-critical environments such as data centres.


Key Responsibilities

Tender Leadership & Estimating

  • Lead the preparation of detailed MEP tenders and cost plans
  • Work closely with Pre-Construction, Planning, and Delivery teams to develop bid strategies
  • Analyse tender documentation to identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
  • Produce accurate net cost estimates for adjudication and senior review
  • Support bid submissions through to client interview stage

Mechanical & Electrical Cost Management

  • Apply strong technical knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems
  • Ensure estimates reflect current market conditions and pricing trends
  • Maintain competitiveness while protecting commercial margins

Supply Chain & Procurement

  • Engage with subcontractors and suppliers during tender stage
  • Assess and contribute to selection of supply chain partners
  • Manage tender enquiries and pricing returns effectively

Risk, Value & Commercial Input

  • Identify and mitigate commercial and technical risks early in the bid process
  • Develop alternative design and value engineering solutions
  • Support negotiation with clients and stakeholders

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Attend client meetings and tender interviews
  • Build strong internal relationships across pre-construction and operational teams
  • Ensure alignment with client requirements and project objectives

About You

You will be an experienced estimator or pre-construction professional with a strong background in MEP and complex building services projects.

Essential Experience

  • Proven track record in a senior estimating or MEP estimating role
  • Strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience working on large-scale construction projects
  • Ability to interpret contract documentation and assess risk effectively

Desirable Experience

  • Data centre sector experience (new build and refurbishment)
  • Background within main contracting or tier 1 environments

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in a construction-related discipline
  • Proficient in estimating software (e.g. Conquest or similar – training provided if needed)
  • Strong IT and analytical skills
  • Commercially focused with excellent attention to detail

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Building Services Manager to oversee all MEP packages on a major construction project based in Exeter.

This role will take full responsibility for the coordination, management, and delivery of building services packages across a large student accommodation development, including both refurbishment and new build elements. The successful candidate will manage complex MEP interfaces, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure the successful delivery of services packages from point of transfer through to practical completion.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with company Health & Safety policies and procedures across all building services activities.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of MEP project delivery from point of transfer through to practical completion.
  • Monitor programme progress and report on performance to the senior management team.
  • Maintain strict budget control across all MEP packages, ensuring commercial targets are met.
  • Lead, support, and develop the project team delivering the building services scope.
  • Manage the procurement and engagement of MEP subcontractors and suppliers in line with company procedures.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance against programme, quality, and cost targets.
  • Take responsibility for the delivery of MEP services across the entire project.

Essential Requirements

  • Strong MEP / Building Services management experience within construction.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale building services packages.
  • Ability to manage large project teams and complex subcontractor packages.
  • Living locally to the area or willingness to relocate to Exeter for the duration of the project.
  • Knowledge of BYCN systems and internal procedures.

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
  • Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.

This is a full-time permanent role, based from the Plymouth office, with travel and occasional working away required on larger projects. An uplift will be paid when working away.
