The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Contracts Manager to oversee the delivery of large-scale solar farm projects across the South of England.

Working client-side, you’ll manage EPC and design & build contractors, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, to specification, and within budget. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your construction expertise to support the delivery of renewable energy and sustainable community projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage EPC, grid connection, and electrical contractors throughout pre-construction, delivery, and commissioning.
• Administer construction contracts, including variations, payments, claims, delays, and final accounts.
• Monitor programme, quality, costs, risk, and health and safety.
• Coordinate technical advisers, contractors, stakeholders, and grid connection providers.
• Undertake regular site visits, chair progress meetings, and oversee testing, handover, and defects.

About You

• At least 5 years’ experience managing construction contracts on large-scale solar, wind, battery storage, or similar electrical infrastructure projects.
• Hands-on experience administering EPC or D&B contracts, including change control, claims, and commercial management.
• Knowledge of solar farm construction, grid connections, and CDM regulations.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and reporting skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and contractors.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly, including occasional overnight stays.
• A relevant degree or professional qualification, CSCS card, and SMSTS would be advantageous.

The Role

• Leading and supporting a team of Premises Assistants across the school sites

• Making sure all health and safety, statutory and regulatory requirements are met, using safe systems of work

Who We’d Love to Hear From

• Proven experience in facilities management, ideally in a busy operational setting
• Experience of leading or supervising a team
• A good working knowledge of health and safety legislation and COSHH
• IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent preferred
• Experience of building maintenance systems and coordinating maintenance work (knowledge of Concept CAFM is a bonus)

This is a resilience role, so you won’t be tied to one building. You’ll travel between commercial properties across Zones 1 and 2, supporting sites where an extra pair of skilled hands is needed most. The Role

• Carrying out day-to-day servicing of electrical infrastructure, and breakdown maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems and equipment
• Delivering planned preventative maintenance and responding to faults within agreed service levels
• Fault finding, making plant adjustments, and inspecting electrical services, plant and systems to the contract specification
• Working safely at all times, following safe systems of work, and helping to induct sub-contractors so they can get to work safely
• Handling reactive and additional works to the right engineering standards

• Stepping in to support or cover for your supervisor when required
