 We are assisting in recruiting an Area Contracts Manager for a new contracts team, managing MOD maintenance contracts across the South West. We are looking for an ambitious and people-focused leader who can make their mark building and delivering an exceptional and customer-focused facilities management/built-estate service.

As an Area Contracts Manager, you will drive your team and the trusted sub-contractors, providing a safe and compliant service, in a busy and demanding environment. At the same time ensure you are delivering a cost-effective and quality service.

 Duties will include:

  • Responsible for the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance projects, across multiple sites, managing a trusted supply chain/contractors.
  • Ensuring a culture of exceptional health and safety
  • Ensure a programme of work is in place.
  • Develop and maintain lasting client relationships, working openly and transparently.
  • Responsible for the growth and delivery of further billable works

Suitable candidates will possess the following:

  • Previous experience within facility management – hard services or building refurbishment works.
  • Excellent communication skills, ensuring excellent engagement with the management teams and client.
  • Experience in leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams and sub-contractors.
  • Relevant professional qualification, CIOB / MRICS / BIFM or equivalent experience through experience or qualification in the role-related subject
  • Sound knowledge of all MS Office Package
  • You must be able to pass SC Clearance to be considered for this role.

Sphere Solutions is working in partnership with a leading provider of engineering, technical, and FM services to the UK MOD, to recruit an 18th-edition qualified Electrician to join their team. As part of the Defence FM and Housing Maintenance framework contracts, you will play a crucial role in delivering effective and compliant electrical maintenance tasks within the Gloucester area.

Reporting office based in Gloucester, this role will cover sites across Gloucester, this position is a permanent, full-time Monday to Friday position with a 1in6 out-of-hours rota which will include occasional weekend work

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake planned and reactive electrical maintenance
  • Work as part of the on-site engineering team
  • Complete all works scheduled within service-level agreements
  • Carry out reactive repairs and callouts for emergencies
  • Ensure all works carried out meet JSP375 standards
  • Review and contribute to Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Work independently from drawings, specifications, and other documentation
  • Report all equipment or system defects
  • Attend team briefs, Toolbox talks, training

Requirements:

  • Full, clean UK driving licence (travel within multiple locations required)
  • 18th edition electrical qualification, including City and Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing
  • Experience in an MOD or Construction/Property Maintenance environment (desirable)
  • Ability to obtain SC Clearance

Our client is an award-winning rail infrastructure service provider based in South Wales. With extensive experience in Civil Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical and Rail infrastructure support. Our team of professionals deliver practical, flexible and innovative solutions that challenge the status quo. Due to the consistent growth of our business over recent years, they are seeking a dynamic and driven individual who wants to join the Commercial Team as a Quantity Surveyor.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding, preparing and presenting monthly cost/value (CVR’s) and/or work-in-progress (WIP’s) reports with input and assistance from the Project Team.
  • Experience in working with, negotiating and understanding the NEC contracts.
  • Preparation of monthly cost plans identifying and providing justification for periodic or completion movements.
  • Regular communication and liaison with the project team to identify and manage both contractors and client risk.
  • Ability to prioritise and schedule workload enabling the meeting of external and internal submission deadlines.
  • Working collaboratively with the department and project teams to ensure contract administration and internal processes are improved and maintained to the maximum standard.
  • Understanding and experience in project programmes and critical paths
  • Producing, submitting, substantiating and agreeing monthly Applications for Payment to the point of Certification.
  • Producing, submitting, substantiating and negotiating external Final Accounts.
  • Subcontract administration including but not limited to procurement, management, administration and Final Account agreement.

The Candidate:

  • Good interpersonal communication, listening, and negotiation skills
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Confidence in providing good quality written and oral communication.
  • A Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar
  • MRICS qualified or a commitment to professionally develop
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to work alongside colleagues in a joint effort to drive the business forward.
  • The successful applicant will be highly motivated, and practical, and possess excellent communication and presentation skills allied to a strong track record of delivery within the civil engineering industry.
