I’m seeking an organised and proactive Assistant Electrical Project Engineer to join a site-based team.

This role involves supporting the Senior Project Engineer / Project Director to ensure the successful delivery of projects from planning through to commissioning and handover. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation of documentation, drawings, and specifications, and assist with design deliverables and project administration tasks.

The role:

  • Assist the Senior Project Engineer and project team to successfully deliver projects – including planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning, and project closeout.
  • Support the design team in producing design deliverables, ensuring high-quality technical documentation.
  • Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of key project documents – drawings, specifications, and progress reports.
  • Lead and attend project reviews and meetings
  • Maintain accurate project records – daily progress logs, diaries, and documentation, ensuring all project information is up to date.
  • Prepare and deliver both internal and external reports, liaising with stakeholders
  • Manage subcontractors, monitoring their attendance, progress, and performance to ensure compliance with contractual arrangements.
  • Ensure procurement plans are in place and that materials, resources, and supply chain activities are delivered on schedule.
  • Develop an awareness of the Digital Briefcase system and integrate it into project workflow.
  • Assist with site administration tasks, including issuing information to the supply chain and subcontractors.
  • Assist / implement safe systems of work and ensure that health and safety regulations are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Recently qualified electrically biased graduate or experienced electrician seeking further experience in project engineering.
  • Holds or is eager to work towards the APM PFQ/PMQ qualification.
  • Possesses CSCS certification; SMSTS or equivalent certification is desirable.
  • Experience working on construction or engineering projects with knowledge of project management and commercial communications.
  • Strong experience in implementing and maintaining safe systems of work on site.
  • Be able to obtain BPSS clearance and other security checks

Building Services Manager
Exeter
We are looking for an experienced Building Services Manager to join a large £200m + student accommodation project in Exeter. You will manage the Mechanical and Electrical subcontractors through the contractor design portion (COP), design development, site installation, and commissioning, ensuring all work is fully coordinated and delivered on schedule.
You’ll champion the perfect delivery philosophy, maintaining high standards of health and safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

About You:

  • Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (preferably Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Experience with a Tier 1 contractor, including pre-construction experience
  • Previous experience of leading the building services package on major projects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of M&E procedures, with technical and professional expertise
  • Ability to produce M&E design, installation, and commissioning programmes
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritise, and meet targets effectively
  • A full UK driving licence is required

I’m looking for a Quantity Surveyor who will support project leaders in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes, capturing and sharing knowledge across projects and enhancing our culture of innovation.

The role holder will manage contract administration, risk management, and negotiation effectively to deliver the agreed profitability and cash projections, inform line management, and seek guidance as and when required.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Communicate and liaise with M&E sub-contractors.
  • Ensure commercial compliance with current contracts, protecting the position of the company.
  • Report to the Lead Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager/ Project Director and other appropriate stakeholders about the subcontract status, including updating the cost control platform as required.
  • Support the Commercial Department with monthly project cost reports and progress reports.
  • Assist the rest of the Commercial Department when required, participating in procurement, contract administration, variations and work packages management.
  • Liaise with Constructions as required.
  • Quantity take-off.
  • Preparation of monthly reports as required.
  • Assist with monthly work-in-progress reports in conjunction with the Commercial Manager / Project Director.
  • Manage delegated resources (e.g., budgets, equipment, and contracts) as appropriate, to ensure value for money.
  • Be fully aware of and actively comply with policies and procedures relevant to your own responsibilities and to corporate policies and procedures including equality, sustainability and the environment, health and safety and data protection.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • 2- 4 years of post-graduate experience in a similar role
  • Previous NEC contract experience (NEC3 or NEC4 option C)

AND:

  • Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise work to deadlines and pay attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and organisation ability combined with good problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to effectively analyse and communicate complex ideas and information to a range of audiences and stakeholders.
  • Familiar with IT software in particular the Microsoft suite; including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
