They operate across various industry areas, and in particular, are very busy within the Data Centre sector, working on several major data centre developments across Bristol and South Wales.

Due to this, they have approached us with the requirement to recruit several experienced M&E-biased Quantity Surveyors. Roles and responsibilities may include:

• Providing a strategic review of commercial model and contract
• Contract administration
• Providing review and advice on the commercial impact of all contract matters including proposed changes to requirements and works information.
• Adjudicating and providing advice on the contractual entitlement of Compensation Events
• Managing Change and Risk through EWN’s and CE’s
• Approval of key Subcontracts, the production of project reports
• Providing review of proposed procurement strategies and advice on all supply chain matters
• Reviewing and providing recommendations on the approval of subcontract tender reports
• Processing Applications for Payment
• Adjudicating and providing advice on Quotations for Compensation Events
• Attending/leading Commercial / Contract meetings
• Comply with Quality Management Systems, processes and procedures.

Candidates will either come from a consultancy, main contractor or specialist M&E Contractor background and reside within the Bristol or Cardiff/South Wales area in particular.

Working on a range of projects within a well-established team, your roles and responsibilities will include:

• Developing and managing a pipeline of opportunities with new and existing clients
• Focusing on securing new clients
• Developing existing relationships in line with regional business strategy
• Ensuring new work is secured to meet budgeted turnover and margin requirements.

The role will consist of developing and cultivating new regional accounts and supporting existing national key accounts ensuring that the business identifies and exceeds the expectations of the same by providing exemplary levels of customer service/care by ensuring added value to clients’ businesses at every available opportunity at every stage of a project.  The role will require the candidate to develop the relationship and manage each opportunity from initial contact through to tender preparation and settlement and final negotiations to secure the order.

Candidates will have the following skills and experience:

• Strong technical & engineering background, customer management experience, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Good understanding and knowledge of bid management and bid coordination.
• Knowledge of mechanical & electrical services design & cost elements is preferable.
• Able to present and discuss proposal negotiations with partners, clients and their representatives.
• Must have the ability to self-manage tasks & people to tight deadlines, while contributing to a multi-disciplined team.
• Well-developed commercial and presentation skills.
• Excellent communication skills, organisational skills and to be a team player.
• Dynamic and focused.
• Shall be required to travel regionally & nationally and may involve overnight stays.
• Display constructive leadership/authority in support of customers’ bid strategy.
• Well-developed entrepreneurial spirit.
• Keen sense of opportunity and the ability to accurately assess ‘Added value’ for the customer over Risk
• Good people management skills.

The role will be varied, and you will manage all engineering services, manage resources on projects, supply chain management, cost reporting/procurement for building services packages, client liaison, consultant liaison, manage all project reporting, site auditing/project compliance, ensure on-site health and safety and monthly reporting on building services schedule and programme.

What you will need:

• BTEC / HNC in Building Services, IOSH, CSCS, SMSTS.
• Experience in managing building services / M&E packages, delivering on time and programme
• Management of procurement, labour and sub-contractors

Management of contract costs and variations – projects over £2m

• Health and safety management, risk assessments
• Compilation and presenting operating and maintenance manuals
• Full UK Driving License and subject to SC Clearance
