I’m seeking a Project Manager to oversee a programme of refurbishment and planned maintenance works in Plymouth.

You will join a forward-thinking team that puts delivery and safety at the forefront of its agenda, working in partnership with the client to deliver maintenance and building services across multiple establishments in the region.

The opportunity will offer variation and as the Project Manager you will take responsibility for delivering multiple construction projects simultaneously at any one time, ranging from building fabric to M&E upgrades through to internal repairs.

This will include –

  • Working with the client to plan the delivery of the projects
  • Managing subcontractors
  • Ensuring on-site health and safety is compliant
  • Work within CDM regulations and ensure projects are delivered within both the programme and budget
  • Manage and support the client’s expectations, progress reports and delivery time scales.
  • Strong commercial awareness and technical ability will be required.

The candidate:

  • HNC, or equivalent level qualification in a Building, Civil Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Relevant working experience in a similar role is essential
  • Experience in managing construction, property maintenance programmes of work, and working in an MoD environment will be advantageous.
  • SMSTS and Asbestos awareness is essential
  • Good supply chain management and local knowledge
  • Must have, or be able to get security clearance
  • Full Driving License
  • Excellent IT skills – MS Office and any experience of using CAFM will be an advantage.

As a Contracts Manager, you will work on multiple projects such as MOD Refurbishments, NHS property, Social housing and Schools.

Reporting to the Plymouth office but working across sites in both regions, suitable candidates can live in Devon or Cornwall.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the administration and operational management of contracts
  • Compiling Construction Phase Plans
  • Compiling RAMS
  • Assisting with pre-construction, tendering and commercial entities
  • Maintaining positive relationships with clients and the supply chain
  • Monitoring contract performance and risk

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop estimates and quotes against client specification requirements.
  • Manage project specifications and risks during the early stages.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Clients.
  • Support the Sales Team in securing new projects.
  • Accurately input all materials and labour required for the project.
  • Obtain external quotes for sub-contract enquiries.
  • Organise effective project handovers to the Project Team and Client introductions.
  • Maintain a timely and effective variation procedure to ensure additional costs are captured.
  • Develop and maintain pricing database.
  • Support the team with continuous improvement and opportunities with the service given to our Clients.
  • Develop good relationships with suppliers and other trades/bodies.
  • Manage Client interfaces up to the point of handover.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner externally (and internally).
  • Maintain excellent Client relationships and develop relationships with new Clients.
  • Attend initial Client meetings & Project Progress meetings.

Experience:

  • Experience: 5 years in a relevant field, internal fit-out or construction sectors.
  • Excellent client liaison and communication skills.
  • Excellent numeracy and IT skills with competencies in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage self effectively.
  • Having a practical, logical, and methodical approach to thinking and problem-solving.

Package:

  • £50,000 – £60,000 + car allowance or Vehicle

I am working with a highly successful regional contractor to recruit an experienced Project / Contracts Manager to oversee several refurbishment projects at any one time. Working across multiple sectors, which will include refurbishment of heritage, MoD, commercial and further educational establishments, up to £2m.
To be considered for this role you will need Project / Contracts Management experience within the refurbishment sectors and have a successful track record in project delivery, leading and coordinating multiple schemes.

Duties will include:

  • Project planning and pre-construction engagement – setting time scales
  • Project mobilisation and site setup – programme, planning – safe and timely delivery
  • Excellent construction phase implementation and delivery – management of direct labour and subcontractors
  • Continual communication, to successful completion and handover of projects – site teams and client liaison

Suitable candidates:

  • A proven track record managing multiple projects up to £2m, working will include; MoD, Commercial,
  • Refurbishment and Heritage schemes
  • NVQ 6/7, Degree in a construction related subject
  • SMSTS, CSCS White / Black Card, full Driving License

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Project Delivery: Manage all aspects of construction site operations, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
