We are working with a leading national housebuilder to recruit an experienced Senior Site Manager to take full responsibility for delivering high-quality housing developments. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will lead site operations, manage the site team, and ensure the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, NHBC standards, Building Regulations, and company procedures.
  • Drive progress against the build programme, coordinating labour, subcontractors, and materials to maintain momentum.
  • Manage material levels effectively to avoid delays and unnecessary stock.
  • Ensure all plots meet required quality standards through inspections, snag management, and proactive issue resolution.
  • Oversee cost control on site and approve subcontractor payments.
  • Carry out site briefings, toolbox talks, and maintain exceptional site presentation.
  • Work closely with internal teams including Sales, Technical, and Commercial to ensure smooth project delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct customer home demonstrations ahead of legal completion.
  • Support, mentor, and direct Assistant Site Managers and the wider site team, ensuring clear responsibilities and strong performance.
  • Build positive relationships with building inspectors, NHBC, and external partners.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager delivering residential developments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-management skills.
  • Ability to manage complex programmes and drive weekly targets.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and commercial awareness.
  • NVQ Level 5 in Construction Management, CIOB membership, or strong trade background with extensive housebuilding experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, health & safety, NHBC requirements, and customer service best practice.

Overview

We’re supporting a well-established national housebuilder to recruit an Assistant Site Manager for a major residential development in Exeter. This role is ideal for someone with proven experience delivering high-quality new build homes and enjoys working in a fast-paced, organised environment.

You’ll support the Site Manager with daily operations, ensuring homes are delivered safely, on programme and to excellent quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day site operations and supervise subcontractors.
  • Complete weekly planning to help achieve build programme deadlines.
