To manage sub-contractors and site labour
Working to programmes and budgets
Ensure compliance and Health and Safety Regulations are in place and met at all times
Liaise with the Contracts Manager to ensure build programme and discuss any issues

Suitable candidates:

SMSTS, First Aid at Work, CSCS Card
Stone/Masonry Build experience is essential
Good supply chain management ability

Devon, Cornwall & Somerset

You will be delivering aftercare & defect management on new-build housing developments across Devon, Cornwall & Somerset.

Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, you will perform all maintenance and repairs to newly built and owned properties, ensuring the best care and service is provided to new homeowners throughout their aftercare period.

Key responsibilities:

Taking direction from the Customer Care Manager, ensuring all appointments are attended on time.
Ensure the property is adequately protected before the commencement of works, including PPE and overshoes. Take relevant photographs confirming protection, before and after work and report on completion of works via email.
Review your diary and ensure that workload is allocated appropriately, ensuring work can be completed right the first time in the time allowed and resolved promptly.
As and when required carry out inspections of reported defects and issue a full report with photographs.
Report any repetitive defects on active and non-active sites to the Customer Care Manager to discuss with the Commercial/Technical Director
Ensure that Health and Safety is followed, and site regulations are followed.

To be successful in the role, we are looking for:

Comprehensive knowledge of construction, and housebuilding & trades e.g. Painting, Decorating, Plastering, Carpentry and Joinery
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal with customers in a friendly and professional manner,
Able to work as part of a small team with established processes and procedures.
Ability to work independently, prioritise work and take initiative.
Works well under pressure/in a fast-moving environment.
Driving license.
Must be willing to travel to sites across Devon, Cornwall & Somerset.

As their Commercial Assistant, you will undertake the administration of Customer Care payments, assist in recovering costs, raise orders, assist the buying team and subcontractors, maintain documents for payments and PO’s, and much more….

Suitable candidates must possess the following:

Must be educated to at least GCSE level with strong Mathematical and IT ability
Experience working in a commercial business environment, and house building experience is advantageous.
Good understanding of Microsoft Office, Excel & Outlook
Must be able to work in a fast-paced and changing environment where priorities can change daily.
Use of COINS is desirable

You will join an experienced site team on a large multi-million pound new-build apartment block/s on the outskirts of Exeter. Suitable candidates will have experience managing external works, which will include; brickwork, windows, steel frame erection and landscaping.

The role:

Quality control/ and package management
Chair run progress/coordination meetings
Check, write and authorise RAMS
Experience with brickwork materials call-offs/management
Able to work autonomously to drive the programme
Reporting to the Project Manager to achieve programme and objectives.

To be considered:

You need to have similar construction experience and have good knowledge of external trades. Along with good IT skills and have SMSTS, CSCS and FAW.

One of my clients, a medium-sized family-owned timber frame developer, are looking to strengthen their team by recruiting an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join their Cornwall division.

Applicants must have a proven background within house building and be able to assist the Site Manager in pushing the progress on site. You will deputise if the Site Manager is unavailable and will ensure standards and morale are high throughout the team.

The development is already underway and works will continue on-site for at least another 12 months, longevity is on offer for suitable candidates to move on to local sites throughout the area.
