Overview
Sphere Solutions are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a leading housebuilder in the South West. We are seeking to appoint a Construction Planner to join their high-performing team based in Exeter.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected and forward-thinking regional contractor specialising in high-quality new build housing developments. The role is ideal for an experienced Construction Planner or Programmer with a strong understanding of residential project planning, construction timelines, and on-site coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain construction programmes and project schedules
- Collaborate with Construction Managers to create site routes and layout plans
- Provide weekly programme updates and track progress across live sites
- Maintain and update key tracking systems (e.g., Build Sales Tracker, Milestone Tracker)
- Monitor project delays and generate exception reports
- Conduct weekly sales reporting and update CML (Council of Mortgage Lenders) dates
- Attend weekly design & build meetings, adjusting build routes as needed
- Contribute to monthly contractor reports with progress photos and key dates
- Perform ad-hoc site visits to assess and report on build progress
- Coordinate EPC submissions and maintain updates in COINS system
- Liaise with senior management on EOTs (Extensions of Time), LADs (Liquidated and Ascertained Damages), and other contractual obligations
What We’re Looking For
- Proficiency in ASTA, MS Project, or similar planning software
- Solid understanding of construction programming and project management principles
- Knowledge of UK building regulations and construction industry standards
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise across teams and stakeholders
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple live projects
- Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field
- Previous experience in residential construction, planning, or project coordination

About the Role
We are partnering with a leading regional house builder to recruit an experienced Customer Care / Multi-Skilled Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected business, delivering outstanding aftercare and defect management services across newly built housing developments in Devon, Cornwall, and Somerset.
You will report to the Customer Service Manager and be responsible for carrying out all maintenance and repairs, ensuring new homeowners receive the highest level of service throughout their aftercare period.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend scheduled appointments punctually, taking direction from the Customer Care Manager.
- Protect properties appropriately before starting works, including the use of PPE and overshoes.
- Capture photographic evidence before and after all works, reporting outcomes via email.
- Manage your own diary, planning workloads effectively to ensure issues are resolved right first time.
- Carry out inspections of reported defects and issue full written and photographic reports as required.
