You will be an integral part of the management team, providing support to the whole team on best Health & Safety practices throughout the business.

Duties will include:

• Carry out regular audits, inspections, and visits
• Carry out SHEQ tasks that are required to maintain company policies and procedures
• Risk assessments and method statements
• Advise on the practical implementation of CDM, Safe Systems of Work, Construction Phase Plans, Environmental Management Plans, and Well-being strategies.
• Accident reports for reportable accidents
• Amend and write up internal Health & Safety documentation, safety policies and procedures, and strategies.

Suitable candidates:

• Must have experience as a SHEQ Manager
• Must have an understanding of ISO 9/14/45 certifications and NERS (national electricity registration schemes)
• NEBOSH General or Construction
• Driving Licence, CSCS card & SMSTS (Preferred)
• Must be willing to travel, due to sites being across the country

I’m looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a contractor with a presence across the region and further afield, working on build & civils projects.

NEC and JCT forms of contract experience are not essential but highly preferred.

Some projects are not local to Devon and will require some travel and the occasional overnight stay.

Your day to day will include:

• Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts.
• Preparation of monthly cost/value reports
• Production of commercial reports
• Physical measurement of works and agreement of same with client and subcontractors
• Sub-contractor procurement
• Valuations
• Invoicing and final accounts

Who are we looking for?

• Must have experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor with a contractor, within Civils or Build.
• Must have confident IT skills, proficient in the use of MS Office particularly Excel
• You will have excellent communication skills both written and verbally
• Must hold a Full UK Drivers Licence

Suitable candidates must have groundworks and civil engineering experience, want to join a reputable regional contractor to manage their sites across all areas. With an expansion phase in full swing and a large client base of repeat business this is an excellent time to join.

You will be tasked with the overall management of designated sites, to provide and maintain on-site health and safety, ensuring compliance and standards are always met. Managing site teams, direct labour and subcontractors, ensuring all plant and materials are fit for purpose, all PPE and on site HSE are in place.

Ensure both short and long term programmes and planning is in place to deliver sites on time and in budget. Regular liaison with the client on progress and attending meetings when required will all be part of this role.

The candidate:

• Experience at Contract Manager level within groundworks & civils is essential
• SMSTS and a good level of health and safety management, RAMS, and COSHH
• Commercial/financial understanding
• Full Driving License as sites will be across all of Devon
