Our client is a well-established regional construction company that put Health, Safety and Quality at the forefront of their agenda and as a high priority for all of their sites.
With an exceptional programme of works and forthcoming sites in mind they have a need for a Health and Safety Advisor to join their South West operations and work with the SHE team advising on all health and safety matters, sites will be across South Devon and Cornwall
The successful applicant will promote and uphold a positive health & safety culture on site and provide specialist expert construction health and safety knowledge to the business. Suitable candidates will have good experience with implementing a positive health and safety culture within a construction / contracting environment.
The role will include:
- To advise and maintain safe systems of work across all sites, monitoring compliance with all legal bodies and regulatory requirements
- Produce Construction phase plans
- Assist to write internal Health and Safety documentation, safety policies and strategies
- Undertake risk assessments and method statements
- Work with the client to understand requirements and offer a collaborative approach on site
- Working with the site team to uphold a positive health and safety environment
- Ensure all works are carried out / set to achieve ISO/SMAS certifications
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role within construction
- NEBOSH General or Construction
- Experience of CDM, Risk assessment, Construction Phase Plans, Fire Safety, Waste Management, Manual handling
- Full valid driving licence

The business is predominantly a utility infrastructure provider but has recently acquired other businesses such as Civils, M&E, building company the list continues.
Based in London, they are looking to add to their commercial team and are recruiting for a competent Quantity Surveyor on a permanent contract.
The Candidate:
- 3-5 years experience or more (ideally in civils, utilities or construction)
- Happy to work the majority from home
- Ideally degree qualified or HNC
- Ideally resides in South Wales or Bristol
- Hugely motivated, driven and keen to progress
Responsibilities:
- The candidate will be responsible for commercial function which essentially will revolve around managing the budget of the project against the actual costs.
- Carry out the procurement and establish the estimated final costs before work commences.
Package:
- They will report directly to the head of commercial
- working hours are 8.30 to 5pm
- Salary is flexible depending on the level of the candidate
