I am working with a long-standing regional contractor to recruit a Site Manager, working on several projects: ranging from refurbishment, heritage, public sector and commercial works.

Responsibilities will include:

 Management of sub-contractors, labour and materials.

  • On-site Health & Safety, adhering to the clients’ regulations and policies.
  • Reporting to the roving Contracts Manager.
  • Create progress reports.
  • Stay in frequent communication with the client’s representatives.

Candidate requirements:

 Must have SMSTS, CSCS & First Aid at Work is essential, regional/general contracting experience is preferred.

  • Diligent, hardworking and committed to the build.
  • DBS clearance will be required
  • A full driving license will be required due to the location of the sites

Salary – Up to £44,000 + Company vehicle + fuel card

I’m looking for a skilled administrator to work with our busy construction client in Exeter.

  • Contracts Admin
  • Commercial support
  • Working with subcontractors
  • Managing Databases

The ideal candidate will have;

  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with various colleagues, customers, and contractors.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Be comfortable working across different departments
  • Be willing to undertake further training and possible site visits to gain a better understanding of the company

Working hours are Monday – Friday 8.30am-5pm and this is an office-based role.

I’m looking for a Group Finance Controller for a busy construction company in the Southwest.

Group Finance Controller needed for a busy construction company in the Southwest who have grown rapidly and now has over 100 employees across all offices.

This role would be suited for someone who ideally has some construction experience, however, FC’s from all industries will be considered. Working hours are 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

Hybrid working is an option if preferred, however, you must be willing to travel to the head office and regional offices throughout the month to meet the business needs.

Candidate Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with strong Excel and accounting software skills.
  • Ideally Xero experience but not essential.
  • Experience in system implementation and process review.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage annual budgets, and short and long revenue forecasts.
  • Develop, maintain, and present cash flow forecasts.
  • Partner with department heads on monthly commercial decisions.
  • Present financial data to the Board and external stakeholders.
  • Management of the accounts team and efficient delivery of all tasks.
  • Liaise directly with an external accountant.

I’m currently recruiting a Senior Planner to join a Tier 1 contractor.

You will manage the Pre-construction & Construction Delivery Teams to offer planning expertise on multiple projects. Ideally, you will be based in either Devon or Cornwall as our client has projects starting in both regions so your location can be flexible.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce fully integrated programmes incorporating all disciplines
  • Production & monitoring of tender event schedule
  • Developing information for tender settlements including benchmarking
  • Liaising with sub-contractors
  • Attending regular site visits

Requirements:

  • Have construction planning experience gained within the main contractor environment.
  • You have a solid history of working on build tenders and live projects between £5M – £100M+ in value.
  • You are an experienced user of Asta Powerproject software.
  • Able to use Bluebeam (or similar) for take-offs, logistic plans, etc.
  • You have strong knowledge of JCT & NEC contract conditions and how this affects planning.
  • Experience in developing claims / CE’s.
