We’re seeking a Technical Manager to join their established Technical team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to manage the full design and regulatory process from planning through to completion across a range of residential developments in Devon and Cornwall.


Role Overview:

As Technical Manager, you will coordinate and oversee all technical aspects of housing projects, ensuring compliance with specifications, planning conditions, regulatory approvals, and pre-construction requirements. You’ll be responsible for producing design briefs, managing external consultants, and reviewing the overall design strategy to ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective homes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor the technical design process from planning through to completion
  • Ensure compliance with planning conditions, technical specifications, and regulatory approvals
  • Prepare design briefs and define scopes of work for consultants and external designers
  • Procure and coordinate building control, warranty providers, and statutory authority approvals
  • Oversee discharging of planning conditions and ensure projects align with CDM regulations
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
  • Regularly review design output to ensure quality, compliance, and value for money

About You:

  • Qualified in Architectural Technology, Civil/Structural Engineering or similar (HND Level 5 or equivalent)
  • Extensive experience working for a residential developer or contractor
  • Strong working knowledge of CDM regulations and construction health & safety
  • Proven ability to manage the technical design stage to meet time, budget, and quality objectives
  • Experience in discharging planning conditions and securing statutory approvals
  • Confident working with consultants, stakeholders, and local authorities

Part-Time Finance Assistant (Office-Based – Pensilva)

About the Role

In this office-based position, you will be responsible for a range of finance and accounting tasks, supporting the Finance Manager with daily operations. You’ll work 15 hours per week, covering Thursdays and Fridays, on a job-share basis.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage the shared ‘Accounts’ email inbox
  • Set up new customer and supplier accounts
  • Process credit application forms and assist with supply chain monitoring
  • Handle purchase ledger processing for mid-month and month-end payment runs
  • Run fortnightly subcontractor payments and prepare CIS Tax statements
  • Process fortnightly payroll using Sage Payroll
  • Maintain and update internal control documents
  • Order and manage office stationery supplies
  • Support the Finance Manager with additional accounting duties as required

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in an accounts office
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping practices across Sales, Purchase, and General Ledgers
  • Experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and credit control
  • Proficient in Sage Payroll and Sage Accounts

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Working towards an accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Xero accounting software (training will be provided)

Additional Information

  • Salary: £25,500 per annum (pro rata)

I am working with a highly successful regional contractor to recruit an experienced Project Manager to oversee several refurbishment projects at any one time. Working across multiple sectors, which will include refurbishment of heritage, MoD, commercial and further educational establishments, up to £2m.

To be considered for this role, you will need Project / Contracts Management experience within the refurbishment sectors and have a successful track record in project delivery, leading and coordinating multiple schemes.

Duties will include:

  • Project planning and pre-construction engagement – setting time scales
  • Project mobilisation and site setup – programme planning, safe and timely delivery
  • Excellent construction phase implementation and delivery – management of direct labour and subcontractors
  • Continual communication, to successful completion and handover of projects – site teams and client liaison

Suitable candidates:

About the Role

This is a fixed-term contract for the duration of both schemes, approximately 12 months. However, there is potential for a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.
