Our client is a well-established regional construction company that put Health, Safety and Quality at the forefront of their agenda and as a high priority for all of their sites.
With an exceptional programme of works and forthcoming sites in mind they have a need for a Health and Safety Advisor to join their South West operations and work with the SHE team advising on all health and safety matters, sites will be across Plymouth and Cornwall.
The successful applicant will promote and uphold a positive health & safety culture on site and provide specialist expert construction health and safety knowledge to the business. Suitable candidates will have good experience of implementing a positive health and safety culture within a construction / contracting environment.
The role will include:
- To advise and maintain safe systems of work across all sites, monitoring compliance with all legal bodies and regulatory requirements
- Produce Construction phase plans
- Assist to write up internal Health and Safety documentation, safety policies and strategies
- Undertake risk assessments and method statements
- Work with the client to understand requirement and offer a collaborative approach on site
- Working with the site team to uphold a positive health and safety environment
- Ensure all works are carried out / set to achieve ISO/SMAS certifications
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role within construction
- NEBOSH General or Construction
- Experience of CDM, Risk assessment, Construction Phase Plans, Fire Safety, Waste Management, Manual handling
- Full valid driving license

- Due to the nature of the scheme, you will need to gain BPSS clearance and a DBS check (Essential)

Due to our ongoing growth and increasing demand, we are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Senior Estimator. With a strong commitment to innovation, precision, and excellence, this civil engineering contractor build long-lasting relationships with clients.
As an experienced Estimator, you will manage the estimation process for high-value projects, provide accurate cost assessments, and lead the bid process to secure new work. You’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure all estimates align with project goals and client expectations.
The role:
- Collaborate with the Estimating Manager and Commercial Manager to improve processes and strategies.
- Develop estimating strategies and pricing schedules with the bid team.
- Obtain competitive pricing from suppliers and maintain a pricing database.
- Conduct site investigations.
- Maintain tender details in the register database.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of tender documents.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A relevant construction-related qualification or membership with significant experience ideally in civil engineering / groundworks
- Proven experience preparing and presenting successful construction estimates.
- Strong leadership and coordination skills.
- Good IT skills, ideally Causeway experience
