Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Town Planner to join a growing Technical team, supporting the delivery of residential developments from land acquisition through to site start and completion.

Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will work closely with the Pre-construction team, taking ownership of the planning process across multiple sites. You will ensure applications are prepared, submitted, and progressed efficiently in line with programme and business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning process from pre-application through to determination
  • Prepare, submit, and manage planning applications, amendments, and reserved matters
  • Liaise with local authorities, planning consultants, architects, and key stakeholders
  • Coordinate planning conditions, Section 106 agreements, and discharge processes
  • Provide planning advice to Land, Technical, Construction, and Commercial teams
  • Attend design team meetings and planning discussions
  • Monitor planning risks, constraints, and timelines, escalating issues where necessary
  • Support planning strategies, programmes, and reporting for senior management
  • Maintain accurate planning records and internal systems
  • Stay up to date with UK planning policy, legislation, and local plans

Requirements & Experience

  • Previous experience in a planning role within housebuilding or a local authority
  • Strong understanding of the UK planning system, policies, and procedures
  • Experience managing planning applications for residential schemes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Proactive, solutions-focused, and detail-oriented approach
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and planning systems

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Building Services Manager to oversee all MEP packages on a major construction project based in Exeter.

This role will take full responsibility for the coordination, management, and delivery of building services packages across a large student accommodation development, including both refurbishment and new build elements. The successful candidate will manage complex MEP interfaces, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure the successful delivery of services packages from point of transfer through to practical completion.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with company Health & Safety policies and procedures across all building services activities.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of MEP project delivery from point of transfer through to practical completion.
  • Monitor programme progress and report on performance to the senior management team.
  • Maintain strict budget control across all MEP packages, ensuring commercial targets are met.
  • Lead, support, and develop the project team delivering the building services scope.
  • Manage the procurement and engagement of MEP subcontractors and suppliers in line with company procedures.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance against programme, quality, and cost targets.
  • Take responsibility for the delivery of MEP services across the entire project.

Essential Requirements

  • Strong MEP / Building Services management experience within construction.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale building services packages.
  • Ability to manage large project teams and complex subcontractor packages.
  • Living locally to the area or willingness to relocate to Exeter for the duration of the project.
  • Knowledge of BYCN systems and internal procedures.

  • Lead the estimating process for new residential and mixed-use developments
