About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Building Services Manager to join a Tier 1 main contractor in Cardiff. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a high-profile, large-scale education project, collaborating with an established project team and reporting directly to the Head of Building Services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) building services on-site, ensuring project specifications and quality standards are met.
  • Work closely with design teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to coordinate building services installations.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and compliance with health & safety regulations.
  • Provide technical expertise and problem-solving support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure effective communication between site teams, contractors, and consultants.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with a main contractor or specialist M&E contractor.
  • Background in managing building services on large-scale projects.
  • Strong knowledge of M&E systems, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent project coordination, communication, and leadership skills.

Construction Planner

Location: West London (initial project), with hybrid working options
Offices: Swindon & Slough
Sector: Main Building Contractor
Regions Covered: M4 Corridor & Greater London


The Opportunity

We are working with a large, well-established main building contractor with an exceptional track record of delivering high-profile construction projects across the M4 Corridor and London regions. Due to ongoing growth, they are now seeking an experienced Construction Planner to join their dynamic planning team.

You will initially be involved in a flagship data centre project based in West London, working alongside a highly skilled and collaborative team. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage construction programmes using Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, or Microsoft Project
  • Work closely with project managers, site teams, and design teams to ensure effective planning and coordination
  • Assist with tender planning and support pre-construction activities
  • Monitor project progress, update programmes, and report on key project milestones and risks
  • Ensure planning processes are in line with company standards and best practices

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Construction Planner working for a main contractor
  • Proficiency with one or more planning software tools: Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, or Microsoft Project
  • Experience of planning on major construction projects (data centres or similar complex builds desirable)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Eligible to work in the UK
