I’m looking to recruit an intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s team, which is based in several offices in the Southwest.

• Exeter
• £40,000-£45,000 + car allowance
• Permanent

They are flexible about which office you work out of, as this will be a mixture of office and site work.

Ideally, you will have a background in Water, Civils or Utilities but they are open to reviewing candidates from experience in all sectors.

For this role, you will mainly cover repairs and work from a schedule of rates with pre-agreed rates.

General Duties

• Managing Subcontractor packages
• Valuations & Variations
• CVRs Measurements & final accounts

Candidate Requirements

• Experience working on projects ranging from £500k to £2m
• Experience using SAGE 200 for reporting desired
• Full driving License

I am working with a well-known local modular contractor to recruit a Foreman to join an exciting project in Newquay on a fixed-term basis.

You will work with a reputable main contractor, to assist with the delivery of a multi-million-pound internal package of modular accommodation block build

Responsibilities will include:

• Supervision of sub-contractors and all labour, ensuring maximum productivity
• Ensuring on-site Health & Safety is adhered to
• Reporting to the Site Manager, you will report on work schedules and progress, ensuring the projects is on time and within budget
• Checking and monitoring quality and progress, troubleshooting and issues on site

Candidate requirements:

• Must have SMSTS/SSSTS CSCS & First Aid at Work
• Trade background and understanding are a must
• Diligent, hardworking,g and committed to the build.
• DBS, BPSS & SC clearance will be required – my client cannot accept applications that require an overseas visa or have a dual nationality.
• Must live local to Newquay.

This role is initially only 6 months but there is the possibility to move to a new site after, although this may not be local.

You will work with a reputable main contractor, to assist with the delivery of a multi-million-pound modular accommodation block build.

Responsibilities will include:

• Management of sub-contractors, labour, and materials.
• On-site Health & Safety, adhering to the client’s regulations and policies.
• Reporting to the roving Project Manager, you may need to make some amendments to plans as the build progresses.
• Create reports and stay in frequent communications with the Project Manager & the client’s Project Manager.

Candidate requirements:

• Must have SMSTS, CSCS & First Aid at Work is essential, modular build experience is preferred.
• IT literate
• Diligent, hardworking, and committed to the build.
• DBS, BPSS & SC clearance will be required – my client cannot accept applications that require an overseas visa or have a dual nationality.
• Must live local to Newquay.

I’m currently recruiting a Senior Planner to join a Tier 1 contractor.

• Devon/Cornwall

You will manage the Pre-construction & Construction Delivery Teams to offer planning expertise on multiple projects. Ideally, you will be based in either Devon or Cornwall as our client has projects starting in both regions so your location can be flexible.

Responsibilities:

• Produce fully integrated programmes incorporating all disciplines
• Production & monitoring of tender event schedule
• Developing information for tender settlements including benchmarking
• Liaising with sub-contractors
• Attending regular site visits

Requirements:

• Have construction planning experience gained within the main contractor environment.
• You have a solid history of working on build tenders and live projects between £5M – £100M+ in value.
• You are an experienced user of Asta Powerproject software.
• Able to use Bluebeam (or similar) for take-offs, logistic plans, etc.
• You have strong knowledge of JCT & NEC contract conditions and how this affects planning.
• Experience in developing claims / CE’s.
