I’m looking for a Quantity Surveyor for a leading Bristol contractor specialising in property services including painting, roofing, flooring, passive fire protection, and kitchen/bathroom replacements.

• £45k + car allowance

The client is looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• Qualified Quantity Surveyor with a background in construction contracts, refurbishment or void contracts required to manage and control all financial and technical aspects of contracts including procurement, invoicing and payment to minimise costs & maximise value.
• Professional Qualification (e.g. HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma) or equivalent
• Previous experience in construction/retrofit or fabric upgrades is preferred however not essential
• Previous experience of working with bill of quants, schedules of rates, design and build contracts etc.
• Extensive experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors
• Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting
• Excellent team player whilst also holding the ability to work independently on own initiative
• Experienced with direct and subcontract labour
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines
• Ability to encourage and support other members of the commercial team
• Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel
• Ideally lives locally in the area

 

Key Responsibilities:

• The surveyor is fully responsible for the financial performance of the project through to collection of cash.
• Measurement, pricing and evaluation of tenders
• Take responsibility for projects from inception to completion
• Identify areas to improve margin
• Cost management
• Target creation
• CVR reporting and forecasting
• Management and administration of sub-contractor accounts
• Producing and submitting applications for payment
• Understand Health & Safety requirements
• Develop and maintain subcontract and supplier contracts

Our client is urgently looking for 2 x Traffic Marshall/s for RAF Lyneham with CPCS/NPORS Marshal Card.

• RAF Lyneham,
• Chippenham,
• SN15 4XX 
• £600/week TAKE-HOME PAY (Nett, after tax etc)

This is a LONG TERM position, until at least JULY 2025. A Fit-to-Work certificate is required but this can be arranged and will be paid for, by Sphere Solutions.

• £600/week take-home pay but there is a possibility for negotiation on this rate, for the right person
• CPCS / NPORS (Blue-Competent Operator or Blue-Operator only – Red-Trained Operator not accepted by our client)
• CSCS card is required only if NPORS card does not have a CSCS logo
• Long term project
• Free Fit-to-Work certificate (valid for 3 years if no specific health conditions affect this)
